I actually can't believe how untouched difficult magic item identification has been.
I know right? Most of the "make magic harder" options have been really popular. Mixing potions, scroll mishaps, and item identification have consistently been the higher scoring ones, and the optional rules for buying, selling, and crafting magic items were some of the first to go.
