My Tiamat group devised a battle plan just to take down Wyrmspeakers: Everybody else held their turn until the Wizard, he cast _Hold Person_ or _Hold Monster_ on the BBEG, then the Fighter stepped up to unload his alpha strike.
I've never seen a Poisoned rule that acted like the real thing.
