Hmm, I hadn't considered that.

I was thinking perhaps either the jury would vote one of their own out, or the remaining contestants would vote a member of the jury off.

This season definitely has become more interesting with the mutiny and the flip of Jonathan. His flipping and the resulting shock of Adam, Parvati, and Candice was one of the best moments in years. (Closely followed by not sharing food with them! )

The odd thing about Johnathan, is that if you go back and evaluate his game play, he has been consistently smart, with one exception that has cast him as the jerk. His one screw-up was thinking he had some sort of alliance with Candace, and following her in her mutiny. Of course, once he followed her mutiny, she and the new tribe made sure to basically let him know that they didn't like him. His only logical play from that point was to try to hook up with people who he thought he could work with.

Given that, I didn't find it at all surprising that Johnathan flipped as soon as Yul gave him a decent reason to. I think the only reason Candace, Parvati, and Adam were surprised by Johnathan's flip to the Yul-Ozzie-Becky-Sandra alliance is that they are like the popular, but dim-witted kids who are the "upper clique" in a lot of high school environments. In high school, they can get away with treating those around them like dirt, and their "inferiors" still try to butter them up and play nice with them. But the Survivor dynamic is different - the "dopey popular" kids, like Parvati don't hold all the cards. And it is hard for them to adjust to.

I won't be sad to see the entirely self-absorbed Parvati, and the dumb pretty-boy Adam go. They dug their own graves. Their indignation over being turned on when they made it clear that they thought they were the coolest kids in school who everyone should cater to just makes them look childish.

While this would certainly be interesting, and is possible, it opens up a lot of problems. One biggy is complaints about the editing. It is one thing for contestants on Big Brother and other such shows to know that they are playing to a television audience for votes. It is different for CBS to just spring it on them without warning.
