My thoughts on a delightful thread.

I am disappointed by the Paladin's long life. Not from a gameplay perspective (I have no real opinions on 5e Paladins from a gamplay perspective)- I just hate Paladins. Completely irrational and unjustified, but it's there.

Now, I am surprised that the Bard won. That said, I really do like the Bard's gameplay mechanics in 5e. IMO, they may be the best. I've only DM'd 5e, but I'd give serious consideration to playing a valor bard. Or even the other dude. They seem like fun from a gameplay perspective. That said- I mean, lutes? Lyres? Music dude? Do we kill orcs, or play them delightful selections from the Ye Olde Jukebox? It's a bit of cognitive dissonance, enjoying the gameplay mechanics while disliking the class concept. But that's just me.

I love having my bard play dissonant music or talking my way out of civilizations or charming evil beings... It's just... So fun!

Great. Ye Olde Medieval Bard as Lou Reed in the Metal Machine Music Phase. Or maybe he's all high class and he's "John Cage, Bard for Hire."

That was in response to your statement of: "That said- I mean, lutes? Lyres? Music dude? Do we kill orcs, or play them delightful selections from the Ye Olde Jukebox?" I murder them by making blood come out of their ears as they fall on the ground screaming with my +13 Performance checks.

Just wait until your nifty Bard comes across the marauding AARP Orcs that don't like your rock 'n' roll, wear earplugs, and will force you off their lawn with extreme prejudice.

What will you do then, lute boy? When your sarcastic remarks fall upon ears that are not only deaf to them, but likely wouldn't understand the references? ;)

I fireball them in anger of them not wanting to hear my beautiful music.

Personally, I think Vicious Mockery delivered via the medium of interpretive dance would easily give a dragon a nosebleed, and your average Kobold would be WTFed to death after the first jetee.
