Survivor: Palau - And Then There Were Nine [Spoilers]

Personally, I would have liked to have seen it be "Steph vs. Koror": through no fault of her own, that's how the game shook out. Now, it seems like she'll be given a "free" ride for some time.

Not that I dislike Steph: she's a good competitor, and seems pretty cool in genreal, from what we've seen, but I can't bring myself to root for her for some reason. But the majority of the group needs to wise up (especially with Coby gone!!), and get at least Tom and Ian out of there for anyone else to have a chance.

Of course, with Bobby-John gone, my favorites are still Gregg and Janu. :)

My favorites are Steph, Tom, and Ian. It seems like the others never do anything, always laying about being useless. That laziness is just so offputting, that I think the people who actually do work will get a boost because the non-workers have gotten so lazy that they wouldn't be able to do everything without the workers. They'll put off voting the big 2 (Tom and Ian) off until the end because they are short sighted, and by that time, the Tom/Steph/Ian/(random 4th person) power block will be out ahead because they will have more votes, meaning it would have to be 100% of everyone else to get them off.

Depending on how immunity falls, I don't see the Tom/Ian/Steph/Katie alliance crumbling. I think Jenn is the likely next target as she is a disruptive force followed by Janu and then Caryn (or possibly Gregg). At that point, it will be Tom, Ian, Gregg (or Caryn), Steph, and Katie. Whoever gets immunity will likely secure themselves a spot in the final three because of alliances. I just can't see Gregg, Jenn, Caryn and Janu successfully turning against one of the other four players and voting them out. Gregg will vote for Janu or Caryn easily enough, but may stall at Jenn. Either way, it's getting even more interesting.

I'm not so sure.
Gregg's been given a bit of a "stealth-edit" so far, (barring the whole "romance" subplot) but I can see him recognizing Tom and Ian (and maybe Steph) as a threat, especailly after last night's ep.

Janu? I like her, but she seems to be somewhat lackadaisical: she needs to step up and start trying to oust Tom/Ian/Steph before they oust her.

this episode was disgusting. Coby had played a pretty good game up until the point and has to realize that its now tom's alliance vs coby's plotting vs steph's wildcard-ness so what does he do? Publicly announces that hes plotting and can't be trusted.

D'OH

I knew Coby wasn't too smart when he had the chance to take Angie on the tribe in ep1 and didn't. But this was ridiculous. Worst. move. ever.

Tom and Ian are getting more annoying with each passing week. Unfortunately the rest of Koror has even less personality than they do.

And I'm annoyed that the producers had a merge. and the preview for next week

[sblock] seems to show, that they are too. They already had one person in solitary, gave up that golden opporunity, but want to go right back to it? GENIUSES. [/sblock]

And if Janu pulls a Vecepia, I really am going to throw my TV out a window. really. ok, maybe not but argh, just the thought is killing me

It will be an interesting next few weeks, while we have had glimpses at Koror, focus has been on Ulong.

Spoiler thoughts:
[sblock]I think solitary angle is to get back at those that bailed this week's challanage for food...two for donuts...five for cookies...two for pizza! On top of that after a feast, 23 days into the game. Sorry, pizza yes but cookies and donuts. Let us see if the hardship Steph was facing can be faced from the bailers, send them to the Ulong camp/cave! :)[/sblock]

Actually, I thought it was a canny move by Steph to jump in: I bet she could've stayed up there and potentially outlasted Tom. In jumping in, and at that point, she showed that A) she can compete with the best of them, and B) she's secure enough in her Alliances that she's not especially afraid of being voted out.

I'm still not rooting for her, but she's playing a good game.

I don't see how anyone could route for her. She hasn't done anything but sit around and when she's not doing that she's breaking down and crying. She is just uninteresting.

Bleh.

It was a calculated risk. I don't think he realized (until it was too late and then he just became more pissy) that Steph would be so well liked. And credit her with playing a low profile. She knew what she was doing. She's been playing the game the longest. She told all the girls exactly what he said and that, at least for now, will buy her a little trust.

Steph is the biggest threat in the game and will continue to be so. She has good-will with almost the whole tribe, she is a physical threat (good aim, good endurance, recall what all the final challenges are) and she has been playing the strategy game for 22 days where everyone else has just started. She stabbed Angie in the back and she never saw it coming. She'll do it to the rest, too.

I just hope no one realizes it until they are all in the jury. :)

I dissagree. It wasn't a dumb move at all. Getting one person on your side just to further alienate yourself from the rest isn't smart, that's just playing it safe. He played a great game until he started whining and speaking up too much.

Um, ok. We'll just agree to disagree. We are starting to see some flaws in both of them and that is fun because we've only seen victory and hugs so far.

This, I agree with. Yeah, it's a "strategy" to sit around and conserve energy to fly under the radar long enough to become a threat but it is a lame one. I'm hoping that the weak go first. The only real weak one left is Janu followed by Katie. She has contributed nothing as well. The rest have shown some cajones at one point or another along the way.
