Thank goodness. I mean, it's totally a D&D movie, but I hated it as a DM, because all the sudden everyone wanted a fully automatic bow in the game after that movie came out.

It's also not a DnD movie.
It does lack spellcasters, but all the other elements are present. Plus, it cast a spell over my heart. 💘

Excalibur was trippy but not really D&D. D&D, oddly enough, is all about the really weak campaign plots like the (late) Hawk the Slayer. Bad guy needs killing so we'll assemble a cool party of diverse characters and see it done. They are weak because the writers are trying to appeal to a widely diverse audience, and finding a common denominator isn't easy...unless you go as basic as you can go.
