[SURVIVOR] Who should really be on the All-Stars?

Ghostwind

First Post
Okay, the show is over and everyone has their opinions regarding the players. We saw players just cave in, we saw some play the game exceedingly well, and we saw some who really needed to grow up. It's apparent that when the casting was made, decisions weren't always so much as who would be a good All-Star as what personalities were best for ratings.

If you could choose your own 18 members based entirely upon their ability to play THE GAME and not just their ratings winning personality, who would you have on Survivor: All-Stars and why?

My choices (and their season):

Chapera
1. Colby (Australia) - Only lost Australia because he was outwitted by Tina.
2. Paschal (Marquesas) - A competitor with the same values as Rudy.
3. 'Boston' Rob (Marquesas) - Like it or not, he knows how to play the game.
4. Jon 'Fairplay' (Pearl Islands) - Everyone hates him, but he plays the game like a master.
5. Helen (Thailand) - Very competitive and should have gone to the finals.
6. Christy (Amazon) - Very underrated competitor who overcame a lot of challenges because of her hearing disability.

Mogo Mogo
1. Richard (Borneo) - A true master of game playing and he knows it.
2. Maralyn (Australia) - Has the same no-nonsense attitude as Rudy. Wants to win.
3. Lex (Africa) - Can play the game well if he can get over 'friendship' issues.
4. Shii Ann (Thailand) - A better player than many think.
5. Ethan (Africa) - A strong competitor.
6. Andrew (Pearl Islands) - Another underrated competitor who lost only because he was in the wrong tribe.

Saboga
1. Rudy (Borneo) - Hard-nosed, no nonsense calls it like it is.
2. Rupert (Pearl Islands) - Competitive with a strong desire to win.
3. Tina (Australia) - Good strategist.
4. Hunter (Marquesas) - Was so much of a threat, he was voted out early.
5. Kathy (Marquesas) - A stronger player than most realize.
6. Rob C. (Amazon) - Best player to never win the game.

I'd add Matthew (Amazon), who I thought played a very good game (and should have won compared to Jenna M.) but is also a very underrated player.

i rooted for Rob C all through the Amazon. But can we drop the best player to not win the game bit? He wasn't. There was no chance ANYONE would ever have taken him to the final two. And there was no chance of him winning the last immunity. Therefore he had a serious flaw in his plan. He also made a terrible mistake by not keeping his secret alliance with Deena and dumping her to stay with the cool kids. Way to give up on the million so you can be cool and hang out with the popular kids, you socially-inept loser.

Johnny Fairplay and Boston Rob have in the two seasons since Rob C, both played BETTER games. (boston rob made some mistakes and it cost him with petty grudges at the jury, johnny fairplay played a PERFECT game, and got screwed by a person who wanted to take someone nice to the end instead of someone who most people hated)

Here's my 18 (and theres NO chance im balancing this for boys and girls)

1> Hatch: without Richard, we have nothing.

2> Johnny Fairplay: got ripped out of an All-Stars appearance because his nefarious scheme didnt hatch until after the All-Stars invites

3> Boston Rob: Because he just schooled the "all-stars"

4> Kelly(Borneo): The only member of the original alliance to not show up on all-stars, and I don't know why, as it was her amazing run through immunity challenges that solidifed their alliance, and her picking Richard over Rudy that gave us a show.

5> Brian(Thailand): Another shoo-in all-star conspicous by his absence.

6> Ethan: Great at challenges, but smart enough to stay alive.

7> Shii-Ann: got robbed the first time by a fake merge, got more bad luck this time with a merge into a stupidly solid alliance. But now that her immunity win and "glass houses" speech have won her some fans, she'd have to be back.

8> Andrew(Pearl Islands): The other victim through no fault of his own, letting people back into the game was BRUTAL and he paid the price. Deserves a second chance

9> Kathy: She KNOWS whats going on, and unlike Shii-Ann, she'll even be slightly more vocal and take charge about it.

10>Matt(Amazon): Still want to know if his craziness was an act or the real him. If it was an act, another masterful play. If its really him, he makes for good TV and can hold his own anyway.

11> Rob C: I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt to NOT fade into the woodwok like he did on All-Stars.

12> Colby: I hate him because he threw the game but he's another strong guy whos not a complete idiot and he seems to have cleaned up his act just a bit.

13> Big Tom: I love him as the comic relief guy, and was looking for an excuse to add him to this list, and found it in his "vote for me" video. Because he finished 4th and 5th, he is the longest lasting survivor ever. I can respect that.

14> Michael(Austrailia): Killed a boar, fell into a campfire. Another guy who needs a second chance.

15-17> I have 4 more names for these 3 spots, not sure who to leave out
Dave(Amazon): He's a rocket scientist. Nuff said
Greg(Borneo): Seeemed borderline psychotic, at the jury he asked them to pick a number. Bring him back.
Jeff (Austrailia): Was liking his game but when Michael fell into the fire, his whole tribe was hosed.
Helen (Thailand): Because Amber was the only other female even worth consideration.

And finally, the surprise entrant:

18> Jeff Probst. CUZ IT WOULD WORK. AND YOU KNOW IT. He likes Colby, he hates Johnny Fairplay, he has intimate knowledge of the game and the contestants. But let's see how well he's really been paying attention.
THIS MUST BE DONE. and is the only reason why all-stars 2 should even be considered in a few more years.

Ooooh, get Jerri to host and I think you've got something...

Ya know, man - I rarely agree with anything you post around here but this is just brilliant. This needs to happen. Let Shii-ann host it cuz she'll ask the tough questions and not apologize for it. It doesn't even have to just be an All Star season, either. Let him play in a normal season. If everyone else gets a shot to play The Game first he should get the same experience...

Oh, and Vegas is taking odds on how many seasons until a Celebrity Survivor. The Over/Under is 2.

I don't know. Being "Survivor" instead of some lame knock-off reality show they might be able to get some real celeb's instead of has-beens, but then you'd also get more people quitting the game than you had this past season.

I don't think Jeff would work at all. Yes, it's a very cool concept, but I think that's just what it is: a cool concept.

What drive survivors to those intense-backstabbing moment ? The million. Jeff must be a millionaire many times over. He would be a great personality, but I think he's seen too much sub-human behavior to subject himself to it. I'm telling you, his contempt really showed last sunday at the reunion.

THAT SAID...

SPOILER AHEAD FROM THURSDAYS MILLION GIVEAWAY:

So Rupert won the popularity million. Surprised ? Not at all. He's a likable guy, and this million wasn't about outwitting, it was about personality. And Rupert has enough personality for 12 guys. I'm happy for him and his little clan.

What I was surprised about is to see Boston Rob in the top four. But just for a moment. It made sense. The survivors hated him, but the PUBLIC realised that he's a very good player, and many wanted him to get that million. I'd really like to see the number of votes, to see how big of a win Rupert got, and how far away Rob was from the top.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I do NOT want to see Celeb Survivor, unless it's washed up celebs who really need the money. What are MC Hammer & Mike Tyson doing these days?

I'd rather have all-beauties. Laced the food prizes and wine with Spanish Fly (or that female version of Viagra).

I think they're doing that on the Playboy Channel.

I call it Survivor: Meangirls of Madagascar.
