SW:3 Plot [Spoilers!!!]

He's a cyborg that appeared in the last chapter of Clone Wars. He's quite adept at using his feet like hands, using them to take out a handful of Jedi knights and masters (at least 2 of which appeared in the movies) without breaking a sweat or whatever cyborg's cool off with.

The Clone Wars showed snippets of various battles like Kit Fisto leading the Mon Calamari against Separatist forces (Quiggans?), Obi Wan facing the bounty hunter Durge (wish we could've seen more of him), Mace Windu using Jedi Fu against some super battle droids and Anakin challenging his first Sith 'apprentice' Asaji Ventriss on Yavin IV.

Hopefully none of that was worth spoiler space. The episodes are online either at Cartoon Network's website or Star Wars.com but you might have to do a lil searching to find 'em. I believe the episodes (about 4-5 minutes each) are in Quicktime and Realplayer formats.

Sounds like the SW franchise is continuing apace -- straight downhill.

And there was a time where I really looked forward to these films... :(

I dunno. The plot doesn't sound horrible to me, but then again, a brief synopsis of the last 2 movies sound decent as well. It's the execution of the plot, and the addition of Lucas' horrible dialogue that's gonna kill it.

Will I see it on the big screen? Prolly, but only at matinee prices.

Eh. It's OK. It doesn't really stir the blood like, say, Empire did, but it's a serviceable link between continuities and it sounds like it will have some action sequences worth seeing on the big screen. I just hope Lucas' dialogue skills have improved (please?)

Demiurge out.

Warbly-Voiced Old Sith Dude: Oh, my, Anakin. Would you like to be my minion for all time? I'm not evil, oh no no.

Anakin Skywalker: *broods*

Padme: I love you Anakin. Don't become evil.

Anakin: Shut up! *angrily shoots R2D2, whose thrusters misfire, sending it careening into C3P0, deleting both their memories*

Ewan MacGregor: Master Yoda, I think young Anakin might not have learned control.

Yoda: *fidgets* Control, control, you must learn control!!!!! *bounces around the room like a rubber ball holding a lightsaber*

Darth Sidious: Anakin, if you're evil, you'll get to wear all black, and you won't look like a punk.

Anakin: *broods*

Sidious: I'll let you borrow the death star for the next pod race.

Anakin: Yippee!!

Giant space battles? Check.

That ham Windu gets killed? Check.

Lava pit duel? Check.

I don't know what everyone's complaining about.

Agreed. I'm looking forward to the Obi-Wan-Anakin duel.

Yeah I think the problem with everyone being disappointed by Episodes I&II is that the tale grows in the retelling.

Let's recap: Star Wars had awesome special effects (for its day) and cool lightsabre duels and some of the worst acting you will ever see anywhere.

Empire was a great movie, one of the best of all time.

Jedi had some awesome special effects (for its day) and cool lightsabre duels and some really really mediocre acting "There's good in him I feel it" argghhhh... I smelled ham too...

Then somehow because of the concerted use of the Force by millions of clones of the Comic Book Guy these movies became deep and philosophical and well written. Really Empire was the only well-written, well-acted movie of the bunch.

So Episodes I&II come along and they are... wait for it... full of fantastic special effects, cool lightsabre duels and bad acting.

Which is fine with me, the movies were always mindless fun to me.

So why all the talk of the franchise "going downhill". The franchise is what it always was (always excepting Empire- heck even Trek made ONE decent movie and it was the second one too).
