This is a quicky.. does firing a ranged weapon while in melee provoke an aoo?

In the orginal version you could not fire a gun at an opponent withing 5ft. I'm not sure how it is in the Revised.

If the gun takes two hands, it causes an Attack of Opportunity(tm). If it's smaller, you can shoot all you want.

This may sound silly, but since you can always make a 2 meter adjustment without risk of an attack of opportunity (as long as you can adjust out of a threatened area), you could simply adjust out of melee threat range and then, even use two-handed weapons without provoking an aoo. (Pages 157-8 of the revised edition clarify this.)
