Swapping the rangers favored enemy for an increase in speed

I think if it's the same progression as the Monk, that's way too much. Anyone know what the Scout speed progression is?
I just got that book in the mail...

+10 ft. at 3rd level, +20 ft. at 11th level. But it's clearly a minor ability for them, and favoured enemy is not a minor ranger ability.

Hm, okay. I'd go for +10 at ever instance a Ranger would get Favored Enemy.

go with the +10...speed is nice but its rarely game breaking...and considering the ranger is giving up his major class ability for it I have no problemw ith it.

Yeah, I've been swayed, too. Especially since a ranger is going to have to go out of his way to get Mobility; it's not a common ranger choice. The increased speed is good, but not game-breaking. At least for any games I've been in; your milage may vary. So +10 ft. per 5 levels. :)

I had a Barb/Psionic Warrior who using Speed of Thought got a Spd of 50 (at 2nd Level) and adding Burst meant a spd 60 by 3rd

It was a great ability (especially with improved initiative, tumble and all the other mobility feats) my character got to be both the mage-slayer and the save the princess while the others distract the dragon guy.

Spd 50 at 1st level is way good (you run as fast as a centaur) but spd 70 at 10th probably aint that 'unbalancing' (unless combined with up the walls type feats) could make for a great jump check though
