Sweet Cover Art?

I have a softness for Dragon Magazine issue 114 since it sparked a discussion about it in my highschool freshman science class.

The next that was a favorite of mine was Dragon Magazine issue 78 because the cover and content were beautiful...the birth of the psionicist

Wow... I somehow missed that LoP buckle pic, thanks Brakkart!

A'Koss: nice to see some more rackham folk out there
:)

A lot of their art has inspired bestiary additions for my own game (I only wish I could find some of their calendar images... :( ) and I have to say some of their layouts are very nice. Clean, readable and well illustrated.

And their Cadwallon GM Screen is pretty nice as well...

And the image that started it all...

I don't know that I have a single favorite, but an old cover of Dragon (or possibly Dungeon) with a fighter jet and a dragon encountering each other has always struck me as memorable. Another is the one where a wizard is opening a set of double doors (I think), with all of his pet projects (i.e. monsters) behind him.

I remember that picture was on the cover of the Origins (94?) info booklet...

It’s impossible for me to pick a favorite. I've been known to buy RPG books just for the art (Rackham's Ragnarok is a good example). But rather than wax philosophical about it let me just post a couple that other's might not have thought of or even seen.

Cover to Ashen Knight from Dark Ages: Vampire

I'll post more as I think of them.

WOW. Nothing like taking a break from D&D for a couple of years to *really* appreciate the nostalgic resonance of those early Basic and 1E covers.

Anyone know if that Erol Otus painting was ever made available as a print?

Where's the DRAGON magazine covers with the chess pieces? You folks aren't going to make me go up to the attic and move 15 years of boxes to scan them are you? :D

Check the Paizo.com site under Dragon back issues. All of the covers are there.

Oh you know, "real life stuff." ;) Nothing much in the way of role-playing or art collecting. Have you framed your WAR pieces yet? :D
