Sword Fight Ensues After South Carolina Break-In

I had a friend sneak into my house once after a party (he left some stuff there and didn't want to wake me... never said my friends were smart). The swords that I collect were not what worried him. It was the Beretta 9mm Pistol that he came face-to-face with that scared the crap outta him.

Luckily for him, I gave a warning before I pulled the trigger.

Yep, live-action D20 Modern (ok, I was playing Millenniums End at the time, but few remember that game), gotta love it!

You only have to say "Monkey Boy" when you say "Roll for initiative", as in "Roll for initiative... Monkey Boy!" :)

It's a reference to the Knights of the Dinner Table comic. Click on cartoon #2 here.

Psst... It's actually a reference to the movie The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Across the 8th Dimension, in which the Red Lectroids from Planet 10 frequently use "monkey-boy" as a deragatory term for Earthlings:

Lord John Whorfin: "Laugh-a while you can, monkey-boy."

Lord John Whorfin: "Who's laughing now, monkey boy?"

John O'Connor: "They're only monkey-boys. We can crush them here on earth, Lord Whorfin."

John Bigboote: "It's not my goddamn planet. Understand, monkey-boy?"

Are they all named "John"? :uhoh:

Yes, actually, they are.

It's a running joke through the comic books and the movie... All Lectroids, both the Red and the Black, disguise themselves and take human-sounding aliases to blend in when on earth, but they all have "John" for a first name and often, but not always, have some nonsense for the last name. Take the employees of Yoyodyne Industries, for example, all of whom are Evil Pure And Simple by way of the Eighth Dimension!...

I remember that movie very fondly.

My favorite exchange was was when Dr. Lizardo(Lord Whorfin) addresses John Bigboote about the overthruster and calls him John Bigbootie. Bigboote responds: "Bigboo-tay, Bigboo-tay", and flips off Lizardo. :D

..uh, it loses a bit of its cool when he promptly gets shot.
