Pathfinder 1E Sword of Valor, Wrath of the Righteous AP Part 2 with your hosts Scotley and MLeibrock

An Banaq moves in he observes several details. The altar and the cloth over it are decorated with wavy bladed knives and bulls' horns. The niche under it where Faxon was hidden is empty. You can just barely see the room from the narrow slit in the front of the altar. A slight smell of blood lingers around it and some spots that appear to be dried blood linger.

The whole space is marked with an unhallow spell which radiates as evil. Beyond that a brazen head on the wall seems to be breathing out evil, Faxon's body still radiates evil even in de3ath attesting to his nastiness in life, the altar is almost painful to look at it is so evil. Oddly the chest remains an island untainted in the otherwise evil room. There is a substantial lock on the chest.

As the paladin's gaze moves around the room his expression is tense execpt in three directions: the alter, which elicits a look of great pain; the bulls horns which give curiosity, but still tense; and the chest which he seems to have curious and calm look. It remains constant all three revolutions.

"His body still radiates evil, the bull's head seems to breath the unhallowness of this room and that alter is as if it was dug of material directly from the depths of the demon's lands itself. That chest is the only thing that does not exude evil."

"Well now, that's interesting," Thorn said, and glanced back at Meliara, but only for a moment.

She went to the chest and produced her tools. After giving the lock mechanism a good look over, she got to work opening the thing.

(OOC - [roll0] Perception to find traps and [roll1] Disable Device to disarm, if need be, or open the lock if there is no trap. If there is, [roll2] is the open lock roll.)

[INDENT=]'Keva, now finished retrieving his arrows from the body, gives it a careful "looking over." Once he's assured himself that Faxon's corpse has been thoroughly searched, he retrieves the arrows that flew wide, and then heads upstairs to pick up the ones he fired up there.

[sblock=Actions/Rolls]Taking 20 on Perception to search the body, for a 35.[/sblock]

Keva finds a Heavy Crossbow with 12 Bolts, a Mithral breastplate, Bracers, a Cloak, a Key that looks like it might fit a chest, a Key that looks like it might fit a door, a Morning Star and a Wand. He has 29 gold pieces in a pocket as well.

Thorn finds no traps and has the lock open about the time 'Keva comes up with a key. Within are various items that appear to have been looted from the ruins over the past several days by the cultists, including 2,310 cp, 759 sp, 122 gp, 11 pp, five silver holy symbols of Iomedae worth 25 gp each, a masterwork longsword, two masterwork scimitars, 450 gp in various fine housewares like silverware and table settings, a wand and a currently broken phylactery of faithfulness. The chest also contains a sheaf of papers.

A search of the cultist's bodies' upstairs reveals 3 Mithral breastplates, 3 Daggers, 3 Masterwork Glaives, 3 Potions, 2 Scrolls, 3 Spell component pouches and 3 Unholy symbols of Baphomet. It does not a appear that Faxon allowed any of them to keep any of the goods they looted. The shelves here and above contain mundane tomes that are the property of city. It appears that the more interesting books must have been on the now destroyed upper floors of the building, because the ones you find are common tomes of general knowledge.

Thorn ignores the stolen booty for the moment and goes for the much more interesting treasure...the papers. Any documents Faxon felt he had to lock up had to be good. They might have names, or places, or other clues to lead them to more of the demon-worshipping traitors that were hiding around the city even now.
