OOC: Scotley and Mleibrock. Mea culpa for my absence. Lots of stuff went on and it was hard to get back in and going. Queenie has been pestering me to post and I was and am determined to play, it is an awesome game.


Denir, long in a dour, quiet mood, had kept to himself for quite a while. Some demon-haunted nightmare danced in front of his waking eyes it seemed. But the screams and the commotion had seemed to stir his vigor once more. He grabbed his sword from it's place of honor and dashed after Meliara.

Thorn just runs pell mell, trying to get to the others as quickly as possible. Rattle rattle go her chains, fwoosh fwoosh goes her torch. But her feet make no sound, even while running.

OOC: Go ahead and make your attack rolls. You've now provided light for Keva's arrows as well. Once we resolve those attacks and the demon's I'll call for the rest of you.

As Thorn reaches the fray she drops the torch close enough that she can see by it, and takes up her chain in both hands. It changes in a heartbeat from a jangling tail of wrought iron into a whirring, spinning, blur of iron talons; barely visible in the darkness. The end of it whickers out towards the demon assaulting her friend!

He hurdles fallen logs, dodges 'round trees and low hanging limbs, and pulls to a stop as Thorn's light suddenly paints the target for him. Raivo comes up; clothyard shafts whistle as they cleave the air toward the monstrous scorpion!

The demon hisses at Thorn as the spiked chain slashes into its flesh and ichor spills on the ground. An instant later an arrow whistles out of the darkness and sinks into its flesh. Neither attack seems to hurt the evil creature as much as it might have a normal foe, but the arrow in particular seems to anger the thing. The loathsome creature lashes out with claws and stingers. While the stingers miss, but claws rip into Thorn's flesh (22 total damage) and hang on (Thorn is grappled). The hideous creature has faces in its claws with mouths which open and rasping tongues loll out and burrow into Thorn's flesh. The tongues seem to attack not only flesh but to somehow lick into your very soul warping your sense of self (DC 18 will save or take 2 Charisma damage).

Banaq's missiles seem to just fizzle out as they reach the demon and appear to do no harm.

GM: Okay, Thorn and Banaq are up. I didn't see an initiative for 'Keva, but if you beat a 19 you are up as well. Everyone else may act after the demon's next turn. Only Thorn is within Melee range everyone else will need to use a ranged attack or move in if they want to Melee. I couldn't get ENWorld's dice roller or Invisible Castle to work today, but http://www.coyotecode.net/roll/ seems to do the job.
