Upstairs, Banaq, Elf Sorcerer L6 Archmage T1

[sblock=Upstairs]
OOC: How many cultists are with us upstairs, and how many of us are there? Do these cultists look like they are mostly cannon-fodder/future-scrifices with a few more formidable ones thrown in, or what? How many of each sort do there seem to be?

Banaq begins to look at the opposing group an eye toward calculating the chances to successfully oppose them in combat. His wand finger is getting itchy....

Mmmyeah, Thorn wasn't appreciating having someone locked behind a door. With a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure the other cultists were being well and truly distracted and wouldn't see her, she hunkered down by the lock and gave it a good look. Checked it for hidden triggers, tiny wires or lines that might break, or the telltale runes of glows of magical traps waiting for anything other than the correctly imbued key to be inserted into the mechanism...

(Perception to attempt to find any traps that might be on this door.)

OOC - As I see it, there is only one cultist down here with you but since you two are the only ones in this room, it would be pretty obvious if you go poking around the keyhole. I originally thought all you guys went upstairs and in that case, all the cultists would have followed but if Thorn is down here, one of the male cultist is also down here at the base of the stairs so they can see up the stairs and also keep an eye on you.

IC - As you start to examine the lock, the cultist yells at you, "You'd better get away from that door. Faxon will kill you dead like the others if he thinks you are checking up on him."

There are three cultist total in this building with you ALL right now. I thought Thorn was upstairs as well so they would have been all up here but since Thorn is downstairs, one is actually down there so there and two up here with you, a male and a female. They definitely don't look weak. You suspect the two of them will put up a good fight with the 6 of you.

OOC - Poor choice of words on my part, when I said 'yelled' I meant scolded. The room is not that big and since there is virtually no furnishings, I'm assuming sound travels here. So he would not have to raise his voice much for Thorn to hear him. His voice was probably raised somewhat though so if your character is interested, then go ahead and roll a perception.

OOC: Can we hear exactly what was yelled or do we need to make perception checks?

Sir Sheldon: Sheep in wolve's clothing with a mean sword

Sir Sheldon stands passive, acting as the well bought mercenary / non-believer of the cult. Inside he is calculating how to take out every oneof the cult members as efficiently as possible - no more different then any other mercenary.

(OOC - I said Thorn was at the base of the stairs several times...but alright, I can roll with this :))

Thorn glanced back again and stood up from the locked door to give the cultist there a hard smile.

"I'm sure he would. That is, after all, how he took over right? He wouldn't want any of his underlings to do the same to him."

She motions with her head towards the door.

"What do you think is going on in there?"
