Pathfinder 1E Sword of Valor, Wrath of the Righteous AP Part 2 with your hosts Scotley and MLeibrock

After talking with the scouts you get a rough idea of the terrain. They did not approach too closely as the Tieflings do have sentries though their camp appears to haphazardly organized. A goat faced demon of some sort seems to be in charge. The camp is on the south side of the ford while the defensive works of the crusaders are on the north side and largely destroyed. Your army is approaching from the south. There is sufficient cover to perhaps allow an ambush.

OOC: If we could arrange it so that they were forced to retreat into the water, that might demoralize them enough to give us another tangible advantage. (Nothing's sadder than a wet tiefling!)

That, sir, is part of my thinking too!

OOC: Well let us be thankful that paladins can at least use ranged weapons. I agree that a ranged assault to provide cover and soften the area is good. I think that Banaq's idea (second idea) of large scale illusions has value if any of our casters have the capability. Even if we cannot portray a full illusory company, an illusion can be used to good effect with some creative thought. Ideally we would send off a contingent to circle around the river to reach the far side. There they can hold the north bank to pick off those fleeing, or disrupt a retreat, or lead a surprise attack from the rear as we need. That is if the river can be crossed safely at some not too distant point (Scouts?) Luckily we have magical communication. One column should advance from the south, with a second coming in on the east flank around the plateau. Our archers can hold rear-guard and pepper them. Ideally at least one PC would be with each group (whatever they are, and these are suggestions, not directives), but the goal would be to rendezvous on top of the plateau. That needs at least four units to pull off. Thoughts?

OOC: Part of the reason that you are here is that the river forms a natural barrier for miles in either direction. This is the only nearby safe crossing.

The forces make their way forward at the appointed time moving with surprising stealth for an army of heavily armed and armored paladins. The companions gather on the hill to watch, give orders and support the army as needed. Thus far the enemy camp does not see aware of the approaching army. The Paladins are soon in position and they carefully ready their bows.

OOC: Scott DeWar go ahead the armies first ranged attack
