Swords and Socialites Part 1: The Forgotten Forge

Tiberian, through a haze of pain and hovering on the edge of unconsciousness, takes a five-foot step away from the warforged assassin and lays his right hand on the wound spurting blood. "Mos' holy Dol Arrah, heal this soldier's wound. I'll fight yer fights an' win yer wars, so long as You are wi' me."

Cure light wounds heals eight hit points. The strain of casting causes Tiberian to lose one of those hit points, leaving him at 7 of 9.

Grim, dwarven fighter

Grim shouts down at the two figures "BUGGER off mates or come and meet yer end at the end of me axe! First one down here dies!"

(occ this is the surprise round right? Partial action only... if so Intimiate 14+3=17 vs. the two figures (I assume that I can see themat 60ft)
Next round Attack +4 Damage 1d10+2 if he hits
/occ)

Lancel, distressed by the wounding of his friend, draws his kukri and forces himself to face down the shadowy creatures down the hallway.

((Readys and action to attack the first creature in range with my shortsword))

((The sneak attack was the surprise round. You all failed your secret spot checks to see the hidden warforged. First full round goes as follows))

Tiberian staggers off the steps, into the sewer water nearly knocking Koren over. He gathers just enough strength to call upon his god to grant him a second wind.

Grimm, using his darkvision and making out the forms of two shifters down the sewer channel, calls out his threats with great force, the passion in his voice audible to all.

The two shifters take a few tentative steps toward the party, clearly afraid to come too much closer. It is plain by their movements that this force they were paid to attack appears far mightier than they were lead to believe. (Move foward 10 feet-50 gap between them and Grimm/Lancel)

Just then, a rush of sewage comes from a pipe set into the south wall about ten feet in front of Lancel. It momentarily increases the flow of water past your feet, but does nothing to unstabilize you. The blast itself, if you were to be caught in it, could be another matter all together.

The warforged Assassin, out for blood takes a five foot step toward Tiberian and says "You have the provost's journal. Give the book to me, and you can live to see another day. Refuse, and we will make your deaths slow and painful." As punctuation to his statement, he jabs his rapier again at Tiberian, who, aware of the threat, neatly deflects the blow with the haft of his halberd. ((miss))

Lancel draws his kurki and waits with both blades drawn for the approach of the somewhat cowed shifter thugs.

Koren, trying to beat back the assault of the Warforged Assassin with his mind every bit as handily as Tiberian beat his attacks back with his weapon, thrusts painful mental energy into the mind of the assassin, who, unused to such power, recoils in pain. ((Failed save))

"I dun know what in the flaming hell you're lookin' for, but once I'm done with you it won't bleedin' matter!" Furious, Tiberian swings his halberd at this assailant, missing badly as he fails to account for the close quarters of the tunnel.

Rolled a natural 1. Firk ding blast!

Grimm, dwarf fighter

(occ I assume with the water and stuff Grimm can't charge? so depending, my actions are.../occ)

Grimm grumbles "Can ye handle that metal man back there? I get rid of the party crashers. You two best flee now cause I am a tired of lookin' at yer faces. ARRG! You are dead!!"

(if Grimm Can charge the distance...)
Grimm charges at the two shifters, +2 attack -2 AC; Attack roll 9 +4 +2 for charging =15; IF that is a Hit, damage 1d10+2 =7 points

(if Grimm Can't charge due to the water...)
Grimm will move 20 feet closer to the Shifters and laugh out loud and try to scare them off again... Intimidate roll 18! +3=21 man why can't I roll that for attack!! anyway

Tiberian swings his mighty halberd, cursing his assailant, but catches the entryway to the stone staircase, his blow easily deflected by the now clearly wounded warforged.

Grimm, judging the distance between himself and the two shifter assailants too great to mount an effective charge (your speed is twenty feet and they are fifty feet away...can't quite charge) walks menacingly toward his opponents. (30 ft. difference between Grim and Shifters, 20 ft. from Lancel to Grim)

The shifters, realising that they have finally upset the dwarf to the point of violence run off down the passageway, turning to the left when the sewage-way dead-ends.

About twenty feet in front of Grim, another pipe opens up a spews sewage into the chamber, temporarily increasing the flow of filth down around Grim's ankles. As Grim threatens the fleeing shifters, he notices pipes spaced about five feet apart all along the hallway, staggered, on both sides.

The warforged, clearly in pain, yells at Tiberian "A sack of filthy meat such as yourself will never prevail over the disciples of the Lord of Blades!". The assassin, taking advantage of Tiberian's momentary tangle with the wall jabs his much smaller and better suited to close-quarters fighting blade into Tiberians shoulder, opening a small but heavily bleeding wound. (5 damage)

Koren concentrates again, launching another mental stab at the warforged. He hopes that he can stop the creature's onslaught while Tiberian holds him off.

*mind thrust 3 dmg. Will Save DC 15*

Lancel runs down to the end of the passageway into the shadows of the sewer. Around each corner, the passages fade into darkness and shadow. The running of water masks the sound of any footfalls you would otherwise hear.

The warforged assassin, his mind bombarded by Koren's mind thrust, looks like he is about to buckle under the mental strain. At the last moment his mind hardens and shakes the effects of the mind thrust off, continuing his assault on Tiberian. (Passes Save)
