Swordsage with Resounding Thunder and Thundering Weapon

Basically, this is a "Does this work?" question.

I'm not sure if it's actually called "Thundering Weapon" but I'm pretty sure there is a weapon out there somewhere that turns your damage into thunder damage, and in the process adds the Thunder keyword to attacks with it.

Let's say this weapon (a longsword for the example) is in the hands of a character with the following relevant feats and powers:

Sword Burst (Close Burst 1 Force Damage)
Arcane Reach
Resounding Thunder

Does this result in a Sword Burst that is close burst 2 within 2 thunder and force damage?

I don't think so. The thunder damage type inherited by the weapon comes from a power, and not property. That means it doesn't add to Implement powers.

Also a problem... I think that I made a mistake, and that there is no such weapon. At least, I've got my books now and I cannot find one. I've checked adventurer's vault and the PHB, no luck.

Actually, there is a "Thundering Weapon", (PHB 236), but the poster above is correct that the Thunder keyword doesn't transfer to the attack, as it is does not have an "at-will" ability adding Thunder as a damage type. However, there *IS* "Lightning Weapon", (PHB 235) which DOES add Lightning as a damage type, and thus would be eligible for the damage add of a feat like Raging Storm.

Meh...it wouldn't be too hard to house rule a thunder weapon that adds the thunder keyword in. It would hardly be overpowering, especially considering that there already officially exists a force weapon and (sigh) that ridiculous radiant weapon. Call it the Blade of Sonorous Thunder or Blade of Thunderous Song and your DM may even give you some cool points for breaking the "blank" weapon naming scheme...

Well, the combo may not be overpowered for a swordmage, but ... on a fighter that takes a bunch of close burst powers?
Especially a swordmaster's steel blitz.

I was wondering if you could add keywords from your magic weapon to your implement powers and, for what it's worth, Customer Service said this:

Thank you for writing. The Lightning Weapon will only contribute its keyword damage to Weapon attacks. When this magic weapon is used as an Implement it will not convey the Lightning keyword to the spell.

Please let me know if you need anymore help!

Good Gaming!

Definitely something to keep in mind when choosing powers.
