T1: A Visit to Spelding Square [Completed]

OOG: it just never stops. Winter vomiting virus this time. We've really lost momentum, and a finish before Christmas looks unlikely, but let's press on. Shall I jump to the point at which you're lined up outside the alleyway that Peladus previously ventured down alone?

OOC: Yes!

Hmmm - WVV sounds like either a necromancy spell (of the particularly icky variety) or perhaps one of those esoteric sports channels. Either way, hope you throw off its effects, T.

Now, the multi-tentacled blob wasn't the one which attacked Peladus during his solo, was it? I think not, and I assume the party had better go to the west, to look for the (hopefully final) creature.

OOG: The delays have caused me to lose track of a few things, such as precisely who saw what when and told whom, but there were indeed 4 creatures in total, and there is just one remaining.

The original creature was split by Pendrake in the middle of the stinking cloud, creating UT1 and UT2. UT1 was split again, producing UT3. UT1 was then killed. UT3 fled after being hit with a magic missile, and Peladus pursued it along the alleyway. UT2 was split by Gillin, making UT4. UT4 was reduced to exactly 0 HP, made a partial withdrawal and started dying. UT2 was caught in the net and splattered. UT4 failed to stabilise and died, becoming visible as it lost shape.

West, though? The fishermen came south across the Square with the net. Do you intend to sweep a new area as you go, or do you mean north?

OOC: OK, I meant that once we get to the position you mentioned in your previous post (lined up outside the alleyway Peladus went down alone), we should search to the west, because I thought that's the way the last one was heading.

OOG: Oh, I see.[sblock='Nock]The last Peladus saw of it was in the junk-filled yard at the far end of this alley, when it walloped him, he hit it with an ineffectual color spray, and it then climbed up the wall of the building.[/sblock]So, if you were lined up something like this, then what?

"I last saw the creature up there. There's a yard at the end of this alleyway to the north. It attacked me and then climbed up onto the roof of this building. I was coming to look for it in case it climbed down on this side but then I heard the calls from you."

"I think we actually need to check both ends of the alleyway, as well as the roof ... and there's a narrow path alongside the sea on the other side of the building."

"I don't want to split the party because many of us are wounded. Perhaps the best way would be to post a sentry here and move around via the seaward path ... but what do the rest of you think? I will admit that strategy is not my strong point ... otherwise I probably wouldn't have been off on my own in the first place."
