The young wizard pauses, then shrugs, grinning. "Nothing like a bit of optimism, I suppose."

There is some fumbling about as everyone takes their positions, Gillin surrendering his end of the net to Ngikhnit.

Midias remains as a lonely sentinel at the mouth of the alleyway. The others bring up the rear as Pendrake and Ngikhnit trawl westwards thirty feet or so, encountering no hidden threats on the way.

Past this point, it becomes difficult to use the net. Two wooden barrels stand against the last shed. There's a very narrow gap where it fails to abut the previous shed. It would be possible to move through this gap, but it would be a tight squeeze. On the far side of the building is the narrow path above the water that Peladus spoke of. Beside this is a wooden dock whose upper end is anchored on the Square. It slopes down fairly steeply as it heads out over the sea.
