Table Generator?

Is there a reliable table generator out there that I could use to create a bunch of lists of wondrous items? I know e-tools is supposed to have that function but I'm hoping to draw on a few more sources than the DMG. I have several of the fan-produced packages for different sources from way back when (and will probably purchase CodeMonkeys' releases)... but barring that, I had thought there was a program called "TableGen" for 3E. Am I mistaken?

I recomend TableSmith. Its a great program. Its free to download, but its worth sending him a few $$ to keep it alive. Its one of my favorite D&D utilitys. Here is a link to the website. There are menu items on this page to get to the downloads. Good luck and enjoy.

There's a lot of different stuff available in RolePlayingMaster (including the "text" style generators), but the "table generators" are a particular strength.

RolePlayingMaster is a full suite of open and expandable D20 source content, and the table generators allow you to build tables directly from the database items.

There are hundreds of different tables in there for different uses (races, items, spells, feats, abilities, skills etc).

For what you want, you may want to check out the table called "Magic Shop". Its an example of linking to other tables (potions, armor, weapons, rings, rods, and wondrous magic - organized into price/availability categories).

The main benefits, however, are things that the "text generators" can't give you, such as:
- Easily modify a table (or a quick copy of it), to add and delete items, or their chance of occurring.
- Import (or create your own) other sources, to extend the available items.
- The generated items are "real" (as opposed to just text), where you can double-click on them to get the full database description.

There's a whole bunch of stuff planned for leveraging all this (such as generating a permanent magic shop with items that you can drag across to creatures, as items with real game mechanics), but thats 1/2 finished, and a release or 2 away yet.
