Tactics for destroying armor & weapons

Spellwise, I like using shatter to destroy all glass in a five foot spread, bye-bye potions. Heat and chill metal won't destroy items but can certainly make using them a pain. As for monsters I prefer the ethereal filcher, since it simply collects items and doesn't destroy them a dedicated party can retrieve lost items, but it can make a real nuisance of itself. It’s even worse when you make it a servant to the BBEG and he shows up with the parties own equipment.
