Tainted offers classic RPG gameplay. The game is not designed to be a doom-laden or blood-drenched horror RPG. Instead, our 'twist of evil' is all about high stakes, suspense, misfortune, changes of pace, gritty encounters and tough challenges.
OGL
Tainted uses OGL/ SRD content and original content to re-visit the Old School or classic gameplay found in early versions of familiar tabletop RPGs.
The game draws on favorite monsters, classes and options from many OGL sources and adapts them to fit Old School play.
We've taken great care to comply fully with OGL requirements. So much so that the project has been digitally archived throughout to maintain a very clear record of all OGL contributions.
Compatibility
There are no new-fangled combat mechanics or out-of-kilter spells and magic items. Tainted is highly compatible with the Original Game and the Scroll of Wonder.
The options added in Tainted can all be switched-on or -off very rapidly.
New content included in Tainted is consistent with the ‘look and feel’ of the Original Game and very easy to drop into any fantasy RPG.
Taint
Players can choose whether to battle evil, to struggle on the border between good and evil, or to embrace the essence of evil known as Taint.
Taint doesn’t drive characters completely insane or leave them horribly disfigured. Well, not at first.
Taint may involve characters in moments of madness, but this is about the option of playing as anti-heroes rather than a free-for-all.
Streamlining
There’s a single attack chart for all characters. (Ascending or Descending AC)
Everyone gets levels at the same XP totals.
Gaps in the range of monsters available at certain levels have been plugged to provide more single opponent encounters.
Characters
Character generation aims to give a character a touch of the heroic without creating instant superheroes.
Classes which may have seemed a bit tired have the option of a few extra tricks at the expense of losing XP bonuses.
Characters start with a wide choice of races and there are no racial caps on levels - unless you want them
Further details to follow, including a selection of sample content.

Should have been putting this out today, but a quick sprint to the finish line suddenly turned into crawling the last few yards - result of breaking a rack of ribs
Such is life and it'll be along shortly now the bandages are in place
