Jem grins. "Work a lever huh? Alright, I reckon I can manage that." He surveys his selection of levers once more and pouts a little. "Hmph. Looks like you've got all the fun ones that move us around and stuff. Oh well... let's see what this one does." With that encouraging sentiment, Jem pulls the leftmost lever, the one with the eye icon. He wouldn't admit to such logical thinking if asked - it would take a good part of the fun out - but he figures that this must be the one that lets them see where they're going somehow or other.

Jem pulls the "eye" lever down and the top half or so of the crab disappears.

Further inspection reveals that the top half of the crab is, indeed there, and is as solid as it ever was, it's just transparent now, with the faintest tinge of emerald green.

 

[DEFCON 1]

Kieran flinches back when the top half of the ship disappears. Then in a panic he leaps to his feet to see where the top went to...

**CLANG!!!**

'OHHHHHHH!!!'

...and promptly slams his skull into the transparent roof. His eyes cross, he goes weak in the knees, and then falls to the floor...

'NNNNNHHH--....... --AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!'

**THUNK!!!**

...right through the hatch and lands in a heap on the ground on the outside of the ship.

 

[Eluvan]

Jem is elated by his success. He turns in his seat to face Judyth, his enthusiasm completely undiminished by Keiran's fumbling. "Good questions, all of 'em. Wish I had some answers for ya. Still, if you're getting out and walking do you think you could toss Keiran back in here before you go, and maybe close the hatch after you?" His face is an infuriating picture of innocence.

 

[Fenris]

Aeryl sighs loudly, gets up slowly walks to the hatch, climbs out walks over to Kieran, takes the quarterstaff and starts poking him with it, hard, until he gets up "Wake up princess, it's time for the ball!"

 

[DEFCON 1]

'Damnit ma! I got my mage gear on!'... Kieran mumbles as he slowly regains consciousness.

After a second or two his eyes pop open and he has a quick moment of panic. 'Where the hell am I?' he exclaims. When Aeryl points out the hatch right above the both of them, Kieran relaxes for just a second... but then sees that the elf is holding his staff and he immediately grabs it away from him.

'Don't you EVER touch my rod without asking!'

With a huff and without even thanking him for waking him up, Kieran climbs back up inside the crab and sits down in the seat, rubbing his head.

OOC: Mystery Men? The character the Hank Azaria played, the guy with the forks? (Dangit, I should know the name...)

 

[Gray Shade]

Clipper nods his head excitedly. "Yes, yes! Very good, Jem!"

He pauses for only a second to throw a glance at the "back seat" and frowns. "Are you guys gonna pull that hatch shut or what?"

Turning his attention back to his own levers, he pushes one with an arrow next to it forward.

OOC: The Blue Raja? "But you don't wear any blue, and couldn't you throw knives or something?"

'Don't you EVER touch my rod without asking!'

"What's the matter, will I go blind?" replies Aeryl climbing back into the crab.

 

[DEFCON 1]

"What's the matter, will I go blind?"

Kieran shakes his head and tightens his grip on his quarterstaff. He settles back in his seat and speaks to Clipper.

'Didn't see any way to close the hatch. Maybe it's automatic?'

He then looks up and out of the transparent roof and admires the room's ceiling.

OOC: The answers were 'Sixteen Candles' and 'Police Academy IV'. Didn't think anyone would get the PAIV reference, but I figured someone must have seen 'Sixteen Candles'. Heh heh.
