Well people have already covered the reasons for the silence on the boards. I talked to him yesterday and he said he had been updating the back pages of his site. There's the already stated dice bag and family problems. But he is still around and getting the orders out as soon as he can.

I talked to Derek today and he is still in business and working on getting everyone's order's out.

His wife is well, but she is trying to get full disability and if any of you have family who have done the same, you know Dragons are easier to slay.

As to EnWorld, Derek said he has access to the site, but when he gets down to a message thread, everything goes wonky. He can see the messages, but not who posted them and the reply button is missing, so he cannot answer either.

And Psion, he said the new dice bags are very good! Lots of colors to choose from and you can get them embroidered with initials or symbols. A bag worthy of your Dwarven Stones.

Yep. I realized that (1) I hadn't played an RPG in about 9 years, (2) I hadn't even sat and watched an RPG session in about 3 years, (3) I was spending more money than I could afford (about $150 - $200 per month), (4) there was no way I could buy everything I wanted from the d20 companies, and (5) the only way I could stop collecting (note: collecting, not playing) was to quit cold turkey and get rid of my collection completely--since there's no chance I could build up that collection again.

Let's hope everything goes well with Derek and his wife. Getting full disability is a challenge.(I know this first hand from my own family.) I am reminded of a line in Ben Bova's "The Kinsman Saga" where a Russian doctor says to his American fiancee "My dear, more people have died of red tape than bullets."

Can one of our Macintosh experts help diagnosis what is happening with the messageboards and lend Derek a hand?

ThomasBJJ is selling my collection He's already sold about 100 items (to himself, to his friends, through email, and on eBay), so there's only about another 1,000 to go.

Okay, I'll admit that I'm not very familiar with ebay, but when I go there I only see 17 items for sale.

He's parceling it out in small batches. So, in the latest round, he put up five of my BattleTech Technical Readouts. The biggest batch was about 35 items (GURPS and most of the Pyramid printed editions) sold for (*whimper, sobbing*) $125. Over the last two or three months he's sold a bunch of Dragon magazines, a few GURPS, and the BattleTech TRs on eBay. Note that eBay can only show the last 30 days on that page.
