Any GURPS left??

Probably. Likely most of the stuff you list. I don't know. I've got to start keeping track of what he sells. :)

But I don't know if I would want Thomas to be selling it in batches any more. We got incredible deals on some of the items sold on eBay (and, of course, some stuff has gone pretty cheap, dagnabit...).

Contact ThomasBJJ@hotmail.com. He's got probably 26 or 27 boxes left. (Only about 2 boxes worth were originally GURPS, I think.)

Shoot, contact him about some computer games. I gave about 100 games outright to him. (Baldur's Gate & Tales of the Sword Coast, Heroes of Might and Magic 2/3/3-Armageddon Blade/4, Might and Magic 6/7/8 (and a M&M collection that has 1-5), Pool of Radiance, Majesty & Northern Expansion, Forgotten Realms RPG Archive (14 games, including Menzo, EOB 1-3, and a few others), Forgotten Realms Atlas, Dragon Magazine Archive, Warlords 3, and a bunch of other RPG stuff, as well as some strategy stuff.) No boxes (they're sitting in my garage, since it's easier to transport games without the boxes), but I also gave him many so-called strategy guides (since I'm a sap to buy those things, instead of getting the info off the 'net).

Okay, back to your question. Here's the ones I KNOW he sold off in that batch.... (There are the ones he's sold to friends, and the ones he's sold on eBay, that aren't included in this list.)

This is Paladinwife, and I'm just wondering...What the hell is a GURP??

GURPS = Generic Universal RolePlaying System. Basically, go to http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/

It's a system that is designed to work across all genres. Want to play a medieval knight? Yep, you can do that. Want to play a 1930's detective? Yep, you can do that. Want to play an alien in a Traveller game? Yep, you can do that. (Pretty much the only thing I've seen that it doesn't work well with is high-powered stuff. Superheroes, for instance.)

It's math-intensive, because it tries to be realistic. But the sourcebooks, oh, the sourcebooks, they are some of the greatest ever seen! You can ignore the crunchy stuff, and use the fluff text as background material.

Me, I enjoyed the Alternate Earths 1 & 2, Traveller: First In (for the solar system creation rules), and Uplift (based on David Brin's first trilogy of Uplift books; a revision is due later this year that might cover both trilogies and the Contacting Aliens book that came out earlier this year).

I've never played a game of GURPS. But there are people who swear by it. (And people who swear AT it. :) )

GURPS

It sounds like a whole lot of trouble...do you have to create a new world yourself evertime you want to switch, or do they put out book after book after book with different world challenges pre-made? Either way it sounds like it can be a real pain. I've never played anything but the "Forgotten Realms" and I like the flexibility it already offers...to much more flexibility and I'd probably still be trying to decide what my first charachter would be!!!! They put out worldbook after worldbook after worldbook. I had two whole boxes of that stuff.

Pretty much, you can survive with just the core rules book. But if you don't want to have to research for a game, you can buy a worldbook. The authors do a LOT of research when writing these books. And they generally try to set up the books so that you can play a variety of ways. For instance, if you wanted to play in ancient Greece, the book might have a section about how to play a historically-accurate campaign. But you wanted to meet Heracles (Hercules in Roman myth)? That's okay, the worldbook will also delve into heroic mythology, as well.

Roleplayng games

You know, my husband has been doing this for a long time and i can barely fit the books we have in our library now, where do you people put this stuff, it's insane the amount of books necessary for my husband to DM a game...I can barely manage my players handbook and the occassional spell I might have to look up elsewhere...they should put these books on microfich or something!!! Talon Commics Legit Bisness???

I don't know what some of these are saying but I doubt I would call TalonComics trustworthy. Always the same promises like "tomorow I will mail it to you" and if you call a few days later he will say the same and still not send the goods. Its now Over 1 month after I payed and still he did not send me anything I orderd.

I don't care what his excuse is. Bisness wise he should not have accepted payments if he can not send the orders. Ans if he did accept them then he should have find a replacement to send the orders for him or atleast send all his costumers an e-mail and arange things.

Its illigal as is described in the Inerstate Commerce (a US Fedaral Law) controlled by the FBI for what he is doing and I wont accept it that he thinks he can abuse a costumer if they live in Europe becouse its dificult to press charges.

I hope for Derek that he will read this post and will keep his promises, becouse if I call him today and I get the same excuse I will press charges and he can expect a 10.000 dollar fine or 3 months in prison for mail fraud.

I assure you, Iaiyna, that while it is late, Derek is doing his best and he has no intentions of taking advantage of anyone. That his not his intent or wish. The current backlog is unfortunate. He is a small business owner, and his personal life has been in a crisis as of late, but he's working hard to repair the situation and is trying to get everyone's order out ASAP.

Now, as you've read above, Derek cannot access these boards at the moment, and you do not have your email address listed in your profile. Nor can I email you through the boards. Can you please send me an email so that I can forward your addy to Derek? (I'm not sure whether he would know which order was yours based on your name alone and I would like to help put you at ease about your order.)
