Ashnar simply nods as Eanos recounts her death, and continues. "The island we had emerged on was volcanic in nature, and the volcano was very active. Our captors took our possessions and threw us into the tunnels under the volcano, where we were supposed to be hunted by the dragon's hatchlings.Eanos' shoulders tighten as he remembers the ordeal. "It was the first time I'd seen a companion slain," the monk recalls, then he looks to Ashnar and smiles. "Though the gods saw fit to return you to us, Ashnar, so that we might still win the day, phyrric a victory though it was."
We met another prisoner, Hogarth, a priest of Gundar, who told us that the dragon and its servants had defiled the holy site of Gundar this island was, and thus Gundar would cause the volcano to erupt. We managed to escape the tunnels shortly before the volcano's eruption truly started, but lava was already flowing over the island. We managed to reach the port, where Causticus was readying his boat to flee, leaving his servants. We fought the would-be usurper and conquered his boat. But in the battle, Causticus felled Nurlan. As with me, the gods returned him to us, however.
Causticus' boat held the equipment stolen from us earlier, and we could rescue two young goblins from the waters... We aren't certain what became of the dragon. It may have perished in Gundar's blood, but we had no proof in that regard. The treacherous illusionist, however, we would meet again, and soon. That man, Wimpell Frump, had become the new court wizard of Prince Medius." Ashnar again pauses in her recounting.
"An intervention, on your behalf, you mean?" Ashnar looks at the man named Ximix who had claimed to have just been in a realm of water before he appeared all wet at the Red Dragon. "Might it have reached farther?" she wonders."The interesting thing about fighting this lich, was that we had help." says Iggy. "Something led us along a path. We didn't actually kill the lich, though, and may meet it again. We got to do a lot of planear travel. Very interesting."
Ashnar presents a deceptively small, obviously magical book. "I must admit there are a few spells I'm not quite ready to share, though."He then pulls a thick arcane book from his pack and slips it across the table towards Ashnar. "Shall we see if we have spells to trade? I hardly have enough cash to copy spells into my book at the moment."
(Of Ashnar's private spells, she is willing to share Ashnar's Mark (which is public anyway), Athleticate Augmentation, and Shield Swarm freely, though she may be persuaded to share the others.)
