Tavern - City of Orussus, The Red Dragon Inn '08

Ignatious pulls his gaze from the spellbooks in front of him, and eyes Tenebrynn and Ashnar. Here was another group too heavy on arcana, and short on muscle and stealth. Still, Charlarn was indispensable, and they could summon some meat shields. He would have to adjust his spell selection accordingly.

"Charlarn and I have just come from the Stonepike mountains. But we didn't complete our quest. Perhaps our presense is fated. Let's find out more."

An elven women in a finely decorated plate mail. On her chest is engraved the head of a lion in all his majesty, and in the background is a moutain. The elven women seems to lack the graceful and feminine steps as she enter the Inn. "Hogarth Vradlick, priestess of Gundar."

She walks up to the messenger. "Are you the messenger of the Priestess Elera the Moonkissed? I have a word from Rinaldo di Senzio. He should arrive here in the hour to help about your problem. He just come back from Monemvassia and need to attend some urgent business at the moment."

Hogarth then salute the wizards. "Hi masters Tenebrynn and Ashnar. Please to see you both again. Rinaldo seems to hope to establish a deal with the church of Ulura after helping with that mission. You know him, help people in eed and get a deal out of the opportunity at the same time."

A man-sized bipedal dog (looking about like Scooby Doo) opens the door to the inn. The observant will notice the ends of a long bow sticking through the "shoulder" of the apparition, and may even heard the faint scrape of chain mail on leather, though it does appear the smell is about write for a dog. "Planus Anaid, priest of the Mongrel, at your service." He let's his homage to Mongrel drop, revealing a slight elf with a weathered appearance. Arrows bristle from two quivers at his hips and an exquisitely crafted longbow rests about his shoulders. Though his most simple adornment - a wooden hound's tooth around his neck - seems to draw the eye more than anything else. He gives a smile and wave to all those present. "Iggy, Charlarn! I see you've found your way back here again as well. I might have been a bit sooner, but thought I would spend some time in the streets with those closest to Mongrel. A couple wild city dogs will get the most fun kinds of mischief. Hey, Ironwolf, is that you, it has been so long!"

He starts across the room toward the cold eyed warrior, "Oh the things I have seen since we first parted ways. Flying bird women, stone birdmen, giants of fire and molten lava -." Planus cuts off as he appears to finally be catching the mood. "There's already more excitement going on, eh?" He finally falls silent to learn what he's missed. Those familiar with Planus might see this as a sign of growth since they first saw him. A less experienced Planus would have spent the next hour trying to guess what exciting thing might be happening next.

Planus is level 8 - a cleric archer. He's not very close to 9th, but he does have strong saves and doesn't have to get in close to help out a group. Sounds like an interesting adventure so I'd be happy to join, but please don't let me take the place of anyone else. I've been posting slow of late for the last 6 months or so, but I'm getting back in the swing of things and can probably keep up a good post rate. If it helps to include him, then count him in, but don't worry if there's not room or he's not a good fit.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]Rinaldo is a level 11 Rogue/Trader. He is less efficient in cpmbat then a level 11 rogue, but his good qaulity equipment have help him out, and his extra level compare to his teammate too.

He has Hogarth, a level 9th combat cleric with him. As a cohort, he is not forced to come, but he has followed Rinaldo in all his adventure up to now, and have been of great help as cleric was rare, but we seems to have many around. But as he is good on the frontline, he might come handy as there is no figther around.

Tenebrynn, Ashnar and Rinalod have team up in the last 5 or 6 adventures... long time team up here. I would love to continue that.[/SBLOCK]

OOC: Well as far as I am concerned all are welcome - including cohorts. I believe that the adventure will be tough as it is and I can easily tweak most of the encounters after seeing you in action.

Eanos, human monk

An elven women in a finely decorated plate mail. On her chest is engraved the head of a lion in all his majesty, and in the background is a moutain. The elven women seems to lack the graceful and feminine steps as she enter the Inn. "Hogarth Vradlick, priestess of Gundar."

"Hogarth?" Eanos mutters, raising an eyebrow as the elven woman introduces herself.

"More wild magic?" he asks his former adventuring companions. "The world certainly doesn't slow down when I'm off elsewhere, does it?"

"Charlarn and I have just come from the Stonepike mountains. But we didn't complete our quest. Perhaps our presense is fated. Let's find out more."

[sblock=OOC]The Stonepikes are a favorite adventure destination, aren't they?

And glad to see that Rinaldo will be around, after all. For a bit, I had the suspicion the trio would be split up, after all the time.[/sblock]

With a short glance at Eanos, as if to see his reaction, Ashnar greets Hogarth "Glad to see you, Hogarth. I was afraid you and Rinaldo wouldn't make it here."

She nods at Planus, not really amused at his casual display of illusion.

OOC: Iggy has the following Knowledge skills
Knowledge (arcane) +19
Knowledge (the planes) +12
Knowledge (history) +15
Knowledge (local) +10
Knowledge (geography)+10
Knowledge (nature) +7
Knowledge (Nobility & Royalty) +6
Knowledge (dungeoneering) +7
Knowledge (architecture & Engineering) +6
Knowledge (religion) +6

He also has 'Lore' which is equivalent to Bardic Knowledge, at +9.

I'm debating including him in this adventure. I'm sure it would be fun, and I'd hate to pass up a chance to game with such high quality players, but I'm feeling time-strapped, and I've lost track of Iggy's personality somewhat.

An old man enter the the Inn. He is walking with difficulty, bending over his cane. He seems to have difficulty to open the door, but the bouncer open it for him. "Thanks you, good friend." The old man look at Joe and add, "and stop to laugh in your beard Joe." Joe doesn't seems to react to the old man. As the door shut, the old man look behind, to make sure no one was behind him.

He suddenly straithen up and strech his back. The old man seems to become younger suddenly. The effect of age is suddenly gone and a man around the thirteen is standing in fine clothing. "I can't believe what I must do to evade the pressure of the merchant guild. They are on my back so I can do pressure on Monemvassia King to give them more control over the trade route. I'm a merchant, not an ambassodor!"

Joe stare at the merchant who return a confuse dlook for a short moment. "Oh yeah... Rinaldo di Senzio, magical item trader, adventurer and Knight of Monemvassia. Tenerbynn, Ashnar, I am not even surprise you are here. Tenebrynn, how does it goes with your wi... wait, girlfriend... is she even your girlfriend yet?" asks Rinaldo.

"Charlarn, it's been some time. How have been your travel? Nurlan, how are you? How goes your theatre in Monemvassia? Eanos! Long time no see. You seem to have gain some wisdom over time. It looks almost like Tenebrynn party."

Joe smiles in greeting and walks over to the groups reunion.

"Welcome back Rinaldo it has been too long since you last graced the Red Dragon. Nevertheless I may have reason for you to leave it shortly. I have recieved a plea for help from an old friend in need and am hopeing to persuade some of your peers here to lend their aide. If you care to hear more come with me I will have Rowena bring us a meal while I elaborate."

So saying the enigmatic barman moves over to a large table and beckons one of the barmaids. As the interested parties take their places at the table Rowena takes drink orders from each and hurries off.

Joe leans forward placeing his elbows upon the table, he frowns in thought and then produces a sheet of parchment which he lays upon the table (see attatchment).

[sblock=Spellcraft 24]This message bares all the hallmarks of a sending, 25 word of short to the point information.[/sblock]

"Ladies and gentlemen please take your seats. Only minutes ago I recieved a message from an old friend, a Cleric of Ulura by the name of Eleera - called the Moonkissed. Eleera is a powerful practitioner of divine magics, and in particular a master of the summoning and calling of creatures from other planes. I don't pretend to fully understand the message, but i believe I have the gist. I will tell you what I know and you can make up your own minds."

He smoothes the parchment and begins to point out sections of the text - written in his own hand.

"Auronan is a Leonal Guardinal, a Celestial creature who Eleera claimed was sent to her by Ulura herself, they are, or were, lovers - apparently, you know Ulurans. He appears to be a muscular man with a lion's head."

[sblock=Sense Motive 20]Joe seems more than a little uncomfortable discussing this, and perhaps a tad jealous?[/sblock]

"I have no idea what this barbed circlet is or could be, but I know Balsra Darr; its a trading outpost in, or rather adjoining, the Underdark beneath the Stonespike Mountains. It is basically a hub for ellicit trade in magics, gambling, and slavery. And its all contained in the Fortress itself. Last I heard the place was run by a Hag, but that was a long time ago, it sounds like things may have changed. I don't know what she means by beware forbiddance, is it some magic perhaps? I do know that it is typically entered through a cave system from the surface, and I will also be willing to pay for Rilithorne to transport you there."

[sblock=Spellcraft 25]If Joe is speaking of teleportation this might indicate that he believes the Rilithorne has prior knowledge of the location.[/sblock]

He sighs heavily and leans back looking from face to face,

"I would consider it a personal favor if you would undertake this quest and free Eleera. I am willing to vouch that she will reward you generously, so much so that I am prepared to do so if she does not - you have my word."

OOC: Please let me know if I am going against any previously established information and I will gladly make changes accordingly.

Manzanita: Let me know what you decide, I would be delighted to have you onboard. I will save the Knowledge checks until I know, not because I am lazy, but because, um, well, I, uh, gotta go! :D
