Bartholemu "lynx" Holland, level 1 rogue

Lynx gathers up his things around the table. Looking at Artax in peticular but gestureing to all he says, "Well, I hate to end this game and converstation, but I wish you all the best. Don't get yourselves killed. I want to see you all back here someday! The cards and converstation will be waiting!"

Lynx Walks the group out to their mounts. He pats his horse and gives her some feed, while wispering in her ear. As the party departs, he turns back into the tavern, shaking his head as he goes. Don't get yourself killed for nothing, Artax.

Rurik, Dwarven Fighter 3

Rurik downs his ale in one gulp. "Garr, ne'er have time ta finish an ale proper-like, would seem."

The dwarf then lumbers out the door.

Felix Stormforge, Human Bar1

Some time after their departure, the people in the inn hear a small commotion outside the doors of the Inn. Before anyone can investigate, the doors slam open, and three people enter. Two men are abruptly dragging a third, a large, brutish hulk of a man, into the common room. Before the innkeep can protest, the two men drop their load onto the floor.

One of the men says, "We found 'im bleeding to death in the fields. Looks like son'in got to 'im." He looks at the third man on the floor, looks especially at the gaping wound the man has in his side.

"Looks like son'in right about kilt him," the other says, "He's got a few copper on him. Perhaps you get him a room? Wouldn't want just leave 'im here."

The two down an ale, while a few servants help the wounded man to his feet. He staggers about for a bit, and you learn for the first time that he is actually alive and concious, albeit barely and unable to speak other than a few mutterings. After his apparent saviors leave, he is taken to a room somewhere, presumably to clean up and rest.....

Veras Re watched the scene, muttering to himself.

"Let me see to his wounds. He stood from his seat, clutching his walking stick in sausage-fingered hands. "I have some skills in fleshcraft"

Milky-white eyes scanned over wounds and blood. But the men nor the servants had heard him. It was not an uncommon occurence to the dwarf to be unheard.

Gathering his belongings and his mug, he followed the servants to the room and when they left, rapped loudly upon the door. "I am a healer, come to see your wounds for infection and festering"

The wounded man swallows, heavily, and stares at the ceiling from his prone position.

"Bunch ' thugs...jumped," he manages to croak, "They 'ad...knives this time.."

He swallows again, and when you get near you notice that not all the fluid on his face is blood, or his own blood, or blood in general.

"Jus' mindin' m own business...didn't wanna hurt anybody...," the man's tears mix with the disgusting stew on his face. "Why'd they...why'd they make me hurt them?"

He suddenly becomes concious of himself. "Ughh...how much you charge?"

Bartholemu "lynx" Holland, level 1 rogue

Bartholemu Holland pulls his dagger that he had been throwing from the wall as the man is being dragged from the floor.

Quietly, he follows the dwarf to the room and watches the scene. Breaking his silence after the man ask how much Veras Re charges, "Lynx" says, "You crossed paths with the wrong crew, man. I hope you gave them as much trouble as they have obviously given to you." Lynx leans up against a wall to watch the dwarf at work.

"I am Veras-Re. Next time you see them, kill them. That will keep their friends away. Don't be dumb enough to do it in the city though" the dwarf advised matter-of-factly.

There was no sympathy in monotone voice. "I don't charge for this. Not for routine bandaging and examination. Besides, Joe would like it if I kept you from bleeding all over his rooms."

Veras-Re handed Felix a rag for his face. Putting down his pack, he took out some bandages and began to clean and bind the giant man's wounds.

"Get a pail of water" he said to the only unoccupied person in the room. He began to ask Felix some routine questions about how he felt and about the attack upon him, checking for poison or lockjaw.

As the dwarf continues his investigation, he discovers that the man isn't as badly hurt as he initially seemed. There were various lacerations on his arms, back, and chest, but most were superficial; there was a deep one that went in almost two inches near his abdomen. After cleaning his face, it is revealed that he had been bludgeoned, most likely by fist, but there wasn't any permanent damage.

"Your name?" someone asked.

He paused a second before answering "Felix." The name seemed foreign, detached. My friends call me.... But of course, he realized, he didn't have any.

Felix answers the questions succinctly, and although wounded, he is very robust and doesn't seem to be in any mortal harm, especially under the supervision of an experienced healer.

"There were four or five of 'em. Jumped me in the tall wheat fields. I saw them comin'; I recognized one of them, so I left the main road into some farm. Try to lose them."

"Tore one of 'em up pretty bad...with my fists. Then the knives started coming. I think I...think I lost my senses or somethin', just started flinging my fists...must have knocked my head, cause I blacked out soon after..."

"I don't think they were out to kill me. Probably just a beating...." Felix looks away. "One of these days, I swear....."

Bartholemu "lynx" Holland, level 1 rogue

Bartholemu paused for a moment at the dwarf's request. He didn't realise that Veras Re was talking to him, or at him at any rate. Bartholemu made no rushed effort, but did fetch the water and set it by the kneeling dwarfs side. Crossing his arms and standing above felix, Bartholemu listened but after a moment grew pale and unfocused. His face became long and his stare seemed to go through Felix. He was stuck in a distent and painful memory, and will respond to no one...
