The raggedly garbed dwarf smiled at the girl's hiss, not at all aggrieved by her profound statement.

This one shows spirit. Perhaps it is right that she has survived much of what has decimated her people. One day, she may even be stronger than I.

"A dead heart is not the same as a sound mind, child."

To the merchant he said, "You have already earned my respect, Jakub. I am Veras-Re, healer of flesh, disciple of the mind and crafter of steel" Of course, it was Jakub's calm in the face of insult that earned the dwarf's respect more than just his altruism. His voice softened slightly, from jagged rock to half-dried clay.

"If You and Sina would have me, I would render you my aid"

Veras-Re waited for their response, ready to continue planning or return to his ale.

Thanyvan suddenly realizes he's not the only halfling with his head in the huddle. The non-chalantly practical advice comes from a forgettably inconscipuous halfling next to Katherine, holding the remains of a plate of cookies in one hand, and half a mug of beer in the other. To all outward appearances, it seems as if the other halfling has been here discussing the adventure since the little girl's introduction, but Thanyvan doesn't remember noticing him until just now.

Odd that.

Odd that, indeed.

I must be weary from my travels to have not noticed a kindred spirit here in the room. *sigh* He will probably think of me as just another runt, but maybe by joining up, I can change his perception of little ol' me.

"I, too, will join if I am to be had. Whatever aid I can lend, I shall." Thanyvan says alomst defiantly, puffing out his meager little chest.

Farid smiles, "You have the help of Farid, that's for sure." He turns to the merchant, "What do you recommend? How do you know this little one?"

the figure in the cloak at the bar speaks in a gruff voice in perfect common
" I will join in this adventure if my sword can be of any assistance"
"My name is Keth"

"Well, we are a small army now... not a bad thing if we need to fight, but not that good if we need to be subtle, and I've always prefered the last."

"Small army, indeed," Jack agrees, as he counts up about ten volunteers already. "But no worries, Miss, I've got subtlety enough for the lot of us... It's what I get paid for."

"Speaking of which," Jack address the merchant interrogatively. "You wouldn't happen to know if the village is offering any compensation for the extermination of this kobold infestation? Even adventurers, after all, have to pay the bills."

Opale looks at Jakub.

"Raise respect in Merchant? I've always told merchant are all thief, and for that, I won't change my mind... but you might be the exception to this rule."

She gives a warm smiles to the merchant.

"Green or black... Jack, I've thought about that possibility, an illusionist or transmuter, but even in that case, if he is only human he would be a good magician to change his form into dragon, even if it is a mere illusion and not some kind of metamorphosis. Honestly, I am not sure what I would prefer between a knowledgeable mage or a young dragon, both are dangerous.

Katherine have a good suggestion here. I would volonteer to probe the village."

"I will scout out the wilderness in the region for signs of the dragon. Perhaps our druid friends would wish to accompany me? The rude one among us should probably go with us as well." He leaves unsaid who the rude among us might be.

This is it. Phyrah give me my strength and my wisdom in your name. Off to become an adventurer!

Thanyvan speaks out, "I would like nothing better than to accompany you on a scouting mission. I feel I might prove useful in some regards." Tyrr the owl hoots in his ear. "Yes, yes Tyrr... you will prove useful as well, I'm sure."

"I'm in on this job. I think I'll go with the wilderness crew. I'm not the best out there, but i'm not exactly subtle either.

"Well, I'm guessing you'll be the one asking the question at the village, Katie," Jack offers. "If so, I'll tag along with you and keep an eye on your back.

"Besides, I may be able to find a few answers you might not."
