"Hmm...the elves. Well I suppose it may make etymological sense at that. A culture connected to elves might have names like Elfgifu or Aelfhilda, or Larwelf, and from an etymological standpoint, it is not so uncommon to see bastardisations of the original form wherein the letters will alternate and juxtapose, or simple find omission or dissociate altogether. In this sense, perhaps, an -elf suffix might quite possibly have transmuted, through the flux and evolution of time, into an -el ending. Fascinating!"

"Amazing! You have a personal relationship to a benign astral parasite! That is impressive indeed, at least to me, and yet you say that it is easy to forge such a link. Could I meet her? I would be fascinated to ask her some questions. After all, if such a bond is easy to establish, I would fain hope that I could forge one myself, whereof I had previously considered it impossible. But if your lady could tell me how..."

"Well, the first thing I'd suggest is don't refer to Sela as a 'benevolent astral parasite'. I'm not completely sure, but I suspect She might not like that."
He pauses for a moment, then continues.
"I unfortunately don't quite know how to introduce Her to you. The way I met Her took about eight months, but you're a good bit smarter than I am. You might do it faster.
After that, you have to decide if you want to serve Her. When what you want most to do is her business, then She "forges the link".
He shrugs. "It took me all my life to be ready for Her. Once I was ready, it took only a moment."
Michael offers Lasair his hand.
"I will be glad to help you learn about Her, if you want. There's great work to be done, and many hands make it light."

"Hmm...is it eight month's journey from here, or was it in a secret place which took you eight months in order to locate? If it was the latter, could you tell me which way to go? I'm curious not insomuch as I necessarily wish to forge a link with your Sela as that I was hoping she could tell me how one goes about requesting the enunciation of such links. She seems more anthropomorphic from your descriptions than I had expected, and if a human can forge such links, then this would be quite the knowledge to obtain. Thereby might I be able to establish my own links to other people, if they were willing to feed me positive emotions in return for my aid, as it is my mind that there can never be too many positive emotions in the world."

"I was going to help build some houses, build some towns, and generally help some people. And just from talking to this lady, I find out I have to have an etherial wind blow through my soul and synergistically contribute to a symbiosis with a benign astral parasite.
If I'm gonna be this busy, I'd better make sure I get a room for the night, cause I'll need the sleep."
Anton gives a smile, "Or maybe some more to drink? It is nice that you help people in that way, though. I do not think that there is a lot of need for such services in Orussus."

"I don't really think you can learn to be a god. Or a goddess. I guess you could try, though. If you just wanted positive emotions, though, maybe you should just help people and see what happens."
He considers for a minute.
"If you do a good deed in exchange for a reward, is it really a good deed?"

"Well, we'll just have to see. And what brings you here, Anton?"
He raises one hand warningly.
"I'm just a Builder, Anton. Small words, please?"

Laughing, Anton scratches under his hat, "I will attempt to be more kind with the words than our friend Lasair. Well, I was looking for some good to do around here, maybe find a job or two. I was hired for a gentleman wanting to travel to a city a few months away, but that was unfortunately cut short. Now, I look for another job."

"What's a god? Is it like a cat? Becuase it sounds like its dog spelled backwards, so when you said it, I thought it might be a cat. But then, placing it in context of your sentence, it seems you refer to your Sela is one. So Sela is a cat parasite? Or should I just call her a 'goddess' as you say?"

"As for good deeds, it is my credo to live by good and thus bring forth good into the world."

I will attempt to be more kind with the words than our friend Lasair

"I am being unkind with the words? My apologies, good sirs! I simply did not understand your customs. Pardon me if I had offended. I guess I should not have assumed that you wished to hear me speak, and would not consider my conversation unkind. It is merely that we have shared water. But I suppose I was a naive fool to assume that the world would share my customs. If you are finding my words hurtful, then I will leave you alone immediately."
