*As Lasair manifests her power, Vanitri opens his mind and looks at her in awe, her beauty radiating ten times as strong as ever before, and her quick smile towards him causing his heart to beat faster and filling him with pleasure. He felt so good, he thought that he would do anything to get her to smile again.*

"Vanitri my dear," Lasair says in a seductive whisper loud enough for the others to hear though, as she walked over to him and gave him a hug, "Do you really like me? If you want to be with me and make me happy, then, you're going to have to do me a favour. Go over there and tell Roselynn that you don't like her any more and you don't want to be her sister. Tell her that I am the only one for you, and that she is ugly and repulsive."

"Would you like to see? Most people would refuse to act as a demonstration, but it is generally acknowledged to be pleasurable and I swear Water Oath that I will not abuse it. If, and only if, you agree and open your mind to me, then I will show you. I kind of doubt that anyone would trust an outsider like me with that, though..."

Anton raises a hand to wave her off, "No, that is not neces--," but it is too late. "An explanation would be good, for next time."

Anton smiles, "For me, I have no reason to doubt you. That is okay, though."

Vanitri walks over to Roselynn and says "I don't think I like you anymore, and I won't be calling you sister. Lasair is the only one for me. You're just ugly and repulsive"

"Very good" Lasair says, smiling at Vanitri, "Now remember what I said about comparing myself to my third-sister Meliana? Well, before we get rid of Roselynn, let's make sure that I was right about her. Grab her, pull off her top, and let's all take a look!"

*Before Vanitri can tug off the other girl's top, however, or do more than puts his hands on the other woman's chest to begin, Lasair yells "Stop!" and dismisses the power, leaving Vanitri bewilderedly back to his senses with his arms on his sister's top.*

"Don't worry Vanitri, I told her about this ahead of time while you were gone and so she knew you didn't mean it! But I hope this shows everyone the power of words...a dangerous power."

"Thank you so much for helping me Vanitri, and I apologise if any of this makes you feel unhappy now. If so, then I have Zij to you and will have to find some way to make it up. However, most people say that it feels quite pleasant. Please, tell me if I have Zij."

 

[Bront]

"Wow..." Vanitri says, shaking his head. "Um, sorry lil'sis." He gives Roselynn a hug.

Vanitri walks back to his seat, and takes a long drink. "I'd never have thought that anyone could make me turn on my own family, 'specialy my lil'sis. I always thought words could be more powerful than a sword, but ... i'm stunned."

Vanitri turns to Lasair and asks "Am I so easy to manipulate? Is it that easy? Could you just have me wander off to my doom at your simple word?" Vanitri takes another long drink, a bit shaken by the whole experience.

Rosalynn listened to everyone talk. She was appauled at the notion of her crawling into Sunny's bed, though she didn't show it.

She noticed Vanitri's strange behavoir then, and as soon as it began, it was over.

It is only a spell...it isn't real....Calm...

"It's fine brother dear." She said, her tone turning somewhat icy. She was suprised at herself for reacting so strongly.

"If you'll excuse me, I need some air." She said to everyone, taking her drink and moving toward the door.

Could you just have me wander off to my doom at your simple word?"

"Well, not yet. Right now, I couldn't make you do anything suicidal because the best I can do is enhance your feelings to me to the point where your desire to bask in my approval and love may overwhelm any judgment you have about what I ask you to do--or sometimes it may not. Either way, though, if I ask you to do something suicidal then you couldn't live to bask in my approval, so you simply wouldn't do it. The love side of it goes for asking you to harm yourself for no reason because it would simply confuse you and cause you not to take the action. The best I could do would be to ask you to please hold off a dangerous monster for just a few seconds so I can get to safety--something that may harm you, but it is protecting me and if you do hold it off, you may still survive to enjoy the pleasure of my approval..."

Am I so easy to manipulate? Is it that easy?

"Its not your fault. Any mortal man or woman is subject to my power currently, and as it grows, it shall be able to command even the mischievous spirits and the powerful celestials...Also, I will eventually gain the power to make someone do anything I tell them to do, anything at all..."

Vanitri takes another long drink, a bit shaken by the whole experience.

"But please, don't think of my power as being used to send people to their doom...that is the curse of my power, and I would never use it for that...There is also a blessing. The blessing is that I can use my power to help people, and to save lives. Rather than stick a sword through an evil man, I can show him the path to salvation and righteousness, though he may not take it once the power fades...My honest hope is for the pleasure that my power brings to help bring people to a good and happy life, or at least to save the lives of those who would otherwise be slain..."

 

[Bront]

"If you'll excuse me, I need some air." She said to everyone, taking her drink and moving toward the door.

Vanitri listens to Lasair explain her power a bit. "Roselynn... lil'sis, don't go. I see it's upset you, but you've seen people influenced before, and I know you know me better than that. I'm sure I couldn't have hurt you, and if I had resisted at first, it might not have even gone as far as it did."

Vanitri grins "In fact, I'm sure you've made a few men do things they might not have otherwise done...Don't forget I know you..."

Vanitri nods to Lasair "I see what you mean. But you need not be burdened by it. If you do what you feel is right, you shouldn't have any regrets. I'm a bit weary, but no worse for wear, and hopefully so is Roselynn."

"Anyway, enough of this grim talk. We need to liven this place up a little bit." Vanitri looks over to Roselynn "How 'bout a song? Something to dance to...."
