"True enough! Very nearly anything would be better than what I'm wearing now. When I set out on this journey I thought for sure some Orc or bandit would assault me wearing my next suit of armor, but so far all the adventure I've found has been a wild goose chase. I suppose I'm lucky I'm not wearing feathers!"

"My last mission was to discover the fate of some beast handlers that had supposedly run afoul of hippogriffs." Ironwolf says with a snort. "Apparently they arrived home a day after we left, and messengers were chasing us across the landscape as we travelled toward the alleged mystery. Nothing came of it."

As tempting as it would be to take the advance money and get better equipment, I believe instead I will put it into the care of a factor from one of the more powerfull banking houses. If, after one month, I am still in captivity the factor will have instructions to purchase my freedom. I'll also leave a written copy of the contract under seal with the factor. Minimizes the risk... unless of course we die in the ring."
