Buyer's Remorse: 1st Level Adventure

The door swings open revealing a well dressed middle aged man with red sunken eyes and a slumped defeated gate, his arms wrapped protectively around a leather satchel. Otherwise he is typically Venzan with graying dark oiled hair and a neat goatee.

He makes for the bar and has a brief quiet conversation with a barman before turning to the room and coughing loudly, obviously nervous.

"Ah, I am Felian Secalli, I seek mercenaries, please join me at my table if you are interested." He takes a seat at an empty table and removes something from his satchel, a golden statue of a hound that must be worth a fortune.

[sblock=Buyers Remorse]Looking for 1st level characters to take part in this adventure - its written based on 4. I also have a 2nd level game ready to go, but am probably going to wait until after the holiday lull to kick it off.[/sblock]

Dellrian, Half-elf Merchant (NPC)

The bar door opens again, and a very well dressed half elf enters the room. He looks around for a little bit, before letting out a huge sigh of relief. It looks like whoever he was looking for is not here...

"Hello Marla! Long time no see! Looks like you have a full crowd in here."

He spots the group of humans sitting together and makes there way over to them.

"I do not believe I have met any of you before. My name is Dellrian. For those of you who first arrived here in Venza, I welcome you to the City of Glass! I will pay for your drinks today as welcome to this grand city!"

Going around, he shakes each persons' hand in turn, pausing slightly on Syl with a scorpion on his shoulder before shaking his hand.

EDIT: However, seeing Felian talk with the barman, he looks at the group before him. "It looks like duty calls you. Maybe some other time."

Iosef Tellus, Aasimar Paladin

Glad to have something to distract from the embarassing conversation he is embroiled in, Iosef leaps to his feat and hustles over to Felian's table.

Marla smiles in greeting, "You're not wrong Dellrian they are certainly full of something." She says wrinkling her nose ostentatiously.

Borric Hawkins, Human Male Fighter

Borric, still with one hand holding the towel to his eye, hears a call to arms. Needing the work, he stops his tasks of disarming, looks around to see what's going on, and begins putting them back on his belt, commenting, "Excuse me gents, but I need a job. You don't have to be first in line for it you just have to outrun the last person to not make the cut. I got longer legs and have had less to drink than long beard there. Besides someone has to make sure the virgin lad gets his ticket to manhood punched properly."

As the half-elf town greeter shows up, he shakes the city official's hand but refrains from commenting aloud, Yeah right, I am sorely tempted to start throwing stones around here and breaking some windows in your City of Glass.

But instead Borric says, "Thanks Dellrian, name's Borric Hawkins. Considering what this town owes me, I will gladly accept your wine. I will be sitting over there with the fellow showing off his statue. Have the horny girl bring it over, but I must warn you she has a temper when you criticize her slow service."

The fighter heads over to inquire about being a mercenary, something he has experience doing in the past. He nods a greeting, "I am a mercenary by trade. Let me show you my arsenal while I we wait." He begins again the process of removing weapons from his belt so he can sit down in a chair.

Brân Duedd, Tengu Gumshoe (Bard: Detective 01)

The quiet Tengu levers his stork-like form from his chair in the corner and quietly strides over to Felian's table. "I'd be interested in the work, if you've room for me and I make the cut, Ser Secalli." His voice is very rich, smoky and deep; something about him grabs the attention and draws eyes once he starts to talk. He carefully makes eye contact, first with his potential employer and then with the other two at the table. "Name's Brân Duedd."

[sblock=OOC]I have a sort of Sam Elliot quality in mind for his voice. His name's pronounced Brawn Dew(i)th.

This is my second LPF character, so if the adventure fills without Brân I'll RP him out.[/sblock]

Secalli nods swallowing hugely as Borric displays his array of weaponary and motions for both him and Bran to sit.

[sblock=Buyer's Remorse]It's essentially first come first served, I'll try to accommodate as many interested as possible. The thread is now up and open in the Playing the Game forum.

Those who are 2nd level or most of the way there are asked to hold on for A Soul Indiscretion. This game is also for those who can post on a regular basis over the holiday period - though obviously I'm not expecting much over the major days, etc.

Hop on in Mowgli, I think we'll be fine. But I'm not sure how to reproduce the little thing over the a in Bran, any ideas? Standard U.K English keyboard[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC/AF]Special characters all have alt codes/shortcuts. Use alt-0226 for â, for example. Alt-0225 is á. You have to have a full numeric keypad to use the shortcuts, though. Without that, the only way I know of to get them in is to copy/paste.

I understand it's a pain, though, so I'm fine with you using the standard 'a.' I might RP a bit about mispronouncing his name . . .[/sblock]

Borric turns to look atBrân with his uncovered eye and replies with all the polite tactfulness he can manages, which isn't much, "Yeah? Borric. I don't suppose you can fly with those feathers can you?"

He finishes the task of piling half his weaponry on the table and sits down, a little distracted as he looks for Marla to deliver either the popinjay's wine or the second ale he ordered.

[sblock=OOC]BTW, I will have a travel day or two where I will be out of pocket (takes 22 hours to reach where I am going). But I can find the time to post once I am there visiting family.

If you want me to wait (and give me a free level ), I could join the second group starting after the holidays if you get more than enough takers on this one.[/sblock]____________________________
