Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Magnus grabbed his mug of wine, finished it off in one go, and with a lip smacking sigh of satisfaction got up and followed Reggie to the back.

Hehehe...closer and closer...

A short, young-looking woman enters the tavern. Her clothes are brown with soft, thick pads of leather integrated into them. These, as well as her boots and her face, are spattered with dry mud.

On her back, a short bow is strapped to a backpack into which has been incorporated a quiver of arrows. Several short daggers adorn her belt.

[sblock=Perception Check: DC=15]You notice that, under her short, brown hair, her ears are pointed.[/sblock]
She walks to the bar, and addresses the bartender confidently, but not dramatically.

"My folk call me Mikara Li Mesadh. Who made request for help from here within?"

She places some coins on the bar (a little more than the usual amount for a drink order)

[sblock=OOC]This is my first time playing a pbp, so bear with me.

See Mikara Li Mesadh for stats.

I am not yet approved, but am williing to play without xp until I am.[/sblock]

First post

A robed humanoid enters The Hanged Man, slouching slightly to obscure facial features, in fact the robes cover every inch of the six foot tall human-shaped creatures skin.

Walking immediately to the bar, with furtive glances here and there at the patrons, he address' the Bar Keep.
I'm looking for a good excuse to witness a few deaths, I don't mind participating, but I'd rather not earn the enmity of the locals. Heard of any excuse to carry out some task that may align with my goal?

OOC This is my first time PBP, and this is my first post on ENworld. I am very knowledgeable of 4e and have already signed up for invisible castle to try to smooth the process. Looking for a group who can bear with my learning curve of ENworld, and PBP. Also I'd like to learn how to Hide this OOC stuff with the "show" button. Link to my unapproved character. (willing to play without XP until approval.) Shifter Cleric lvl 1

"A feller jus' come through here lookin' to hire adventurers. He jus' took a group into the back room..."

[sblock=OOC] to hide content type (for example) {sblock=OOC}hi{/sblock}... but replace the "{}" with "[]"[/sblock]

The robed figure drops a tip, in the form of coin, to encourage the barkeeps free exchange of information, and begins moving towards The Back Room.
Thank You, I won't forget it...

[sblock=OOC]Greatly appreciate advice for noobs. Thanks for the help![/sblock]

The door to the back room flies open and a decrepit man strides out, slamming the door with a surprising amount of force before returning to the bar.

Ale Barkeep!! And not the swill you feed the rest of this lot.

Once again the door opens, and in strides a stranger. Stopping for a moment while his eyes adjust to the dimmer tavern lighting, he looks around furtively, fiddling with the well-maintained crossbow strapped across his chest.

As he hesitates, the unpredictable lighting in the room shifts, for a moment revealing the newcomer. His hair is bound back severely into a ponytail, revealing a tense and paranoid bugbear. His yellow eyes seem to glare around the room, as if expecting enemies to materialize from every corner. The scar across his face pulls his lip up in a perpetual sneer, revealing razor-sharp yellow teeth.

The crossbow, and a short-sword at his waist appear to be his only weapons.

With a soft, guttural accent, he speaks; "Name's Heinrich Kreig. Lookin' for work."

Looking around, he obviously expected some sort of reaction, seeing none, he wanders up to the bar, pulls up a stool, and sits. One hand goes to his crossbow, re-seating the holster to keep his weapon available, the other fishes out a coin. Looking to the bartender, he grunts out a few words. "Beer. And answers. Any work you know of?" He spins the coin, which maneuvers over in front of the barkeep before falling to one side with a clatter.

[sblock=Test]Still learning this forum's particulars. Hi all, from someone only recent to this board, but fairly veteran at pbp in general. Hoping to start into a quest at earliest convenience :) Rogue Archer, in case anyone missed it.[/sblock]
