"Well, you did say not to disturb your musings unless we brought news of the results. Your other servants have steered clear of your private chambers, my liege," the mephit replies nervously, seeming a bit unsure of why this was asked.

*Ashna returns to the throne room to find that, indeed, it is still empty.*

*She does not know the name.*

"Again the elemental flow's energy output was too unstable and never recorded a result above the lower margin before the sentience eroded and they were unable to use your more advanced measure."

When the doors are closed again, Ashna sits down on the throne for a few minutes as she scours her memories about whether she knows anything about what is going on here. Has she displaced a different Ashna in a potential future? Did the mephit seem to pick up the differences? If she picked up the other Ashna's body, why apparently not the mind?

*She doesn't seem to know anything about what is going on here. For the mephit's part, it did seem confused a bit, which could mean it picked up on some differences.*

A pity I never started the habit of writing a diary, that could be useful here. Ashna thinks as she rises again and goes to the bedroom. She intends to examine the spellbook for spells she could currently cast, and maybe hints of transportational spells that could indicate whether she is on a different plane altogether.

(She didn't find anything else interesting in/on/under the desk, right?)
