Looks very interesting!
I´m a little confused by the name, since Mongoose recently published their Legend RPG.

Rangers are "soldiers of fortune?" How... odd.
Dandu said:Given that the average RPG party is composed of itinerant kleptomaniac hobos with a viscous murderous streak several miles wide, who are willing to perform virtually any task for monetary rewards, this strikes you as odd how?
Rangers are masters of guerilla warfare, capable scouts and vicious soldiers that use their environment and shrewd tactics to dispose of their enemies. Though their skills are naturally suited for war, during rare times of
peace rangers ply their deadly trade in the wilderness as hunters, wardens or poachers. Though their abilities are well-suited for working alone, rangers sometimes form groups with like-minded characters such as rogues and barbarians in order to shore up their weaknesses and maximize their strengths.
I think you have succeeded in this in not boxing the ranger into "fighting nature dude" but expanding it into the vision indicated by Dandu's quote (which seems identical to the beta). It would seem you could easily bend the ranger to Tolkien if that's what the player wanted as you could bend it in quite a few alternative directions. That initial preview snippet however would cause confusion in that it does not join your expanded vision of the ranger to the concepts already held by the average player. The best solution of course for such confusion is to download the game (donating to your charity) and checking it out.The Legend system does not cleave to Tolkienesque fantasy as much as some other game systems; we've shared some of the concepts and inspiration, but our goal was to create a system that could be bent to serve any game.
