Teenager's expressions...

You mean that you now think it could be a dutch person having created it rather than Al Gore :D
Yeah. On a related note, I've given up trying to figure out who created Al Gore. Nice worksmanship though.

i don't think it is much of a stretch for teens to be saying "Lol" or "Rflmao" as words.

we did it. "NASA"

and those in between did it. "ASAP"

to me it just makes a logical progression of language considering the media.

but NASA is an acronym, but lol is supposed to convey the fact that someone is laughing, wherein the other person can't see or hear them. you don't type lol unless you're laughing... (or at least you shouldn't, IMO)

OK, I'm naive to this affrontery of geekyness.

It boggles my mind that any young person would not realize:
a) how hideously silly and dorky they make themselves look by saying "lol"
b) how amazingly ignorant they are for not even knowing what lol stands for in the first place, yet they're using it in conversation without even knowing what it is?

aagghhh - my mind is literally not synching with this new phenomenon - I don't think my world-view can warp enough to accept it. ;)

I wouldn't mind FUBAR, it's not an expression used around here. At least it would demonstrate a little creativity and originality.

I don't know what SNAFU stands for though...

The problem you're having is that you don't seem to realize that it's teens who get to decide what behaviors are "silly" and "dorky" (and I think those terms are pretty dated, BTW). In a couple years, all teens will probably be doing this, and us internet old-timers who think it's stupid are going to be the uncool (<- dated term) adults.
