Teflon billy's Gen Con 2007 recap

The women attending the ENnies are getting startlingly beautiful...I have no explanation for it.

I do. It's an easy one:

"I showed up Thursday night to the Judges reception and began getting drunk. Somewhere between ultra-drunk and too drunk"

...What? Just sayin'.... Oh, and those "women"? They were dudes.

(kidding...after seeing Xath--well, let's just say her SO, if she has one, is very lucky)

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!

Here's a few pictures of the carnage (I'm the guy in green), if you're interested. :]

Here you see me explaining to this poor bastard that his life is about to end, and that he should make peace with his god.

Here I slide into my fighting stance, and as you can see, the terror in my opponent's eyes is plainly visible.

This shot was taken just before my weapon blasted through my enemy's shield and cut him in half at the waist. Since there may be children present, I have chosen not to show the pics of his bloody, quivering corpse.

I have more pics of the fighting, including some hilarious ones of gamers getting the tar beaten out of them. I'll post them in my own thread, however, so as not to hijack this one any further.

Greeting EN World Readers!

I happened upon this thread while searching for GenCon pictures and wrap-ups. Much to my surprise I seem to see some revisionist history here! What the mighty Blackdirge does NOT mention, is that he ran screaming like a little girl at the might and fury of our warriors flurry of blows. Of course these photos have not been published. 8)

In all seriousness, BD was actually more skilled than the normal person we get to try. I believe he had a bit of SCA experience (he would have to elaborate on how much) and had some athletic ability to add to that. It was truly a pleasure to exchange blows with him. Both Soth (the tall guy in the photo) and myself (Angmarth - shorter with the black/white surcoat) had a good time showing him how the game works and the kind of contact you can expect. We hope that he (and anyone else who tried it) enjoyed themselves as much as we do showing you the style of game we play.

If anyone is interested in our combat and would like to get involved, check us out!

Hey man, glad to see you found these pictures. And, of course, we're just having a bit of fun here. It was a blast fighting with you guys. I've already found the website and I am in the process of finding a place to play near me.

My SCA and live steel experience (8+ years), actually proved to be a detriment in certain ways. All the fighting I've done in the past decade or so focuses on striking the head, which of course is forbidden by your rules. It really put a dent in my repetoire of strikes, but on the upside, it forced me to practice body and leg strikes. The shield bashing and kicking was also new to me, but it was a blast nonetheless.

Oh, and please tell Soth how sorry I am about those few head shots I landed. They were unintentional, and I hope I managed to pull most of the force from them before they landed.

I hope to see you, and fight you, next year. :D

Thanks for again for coming over and checking us out BD! We will definately be there again next year for another round. I would love to get a copy of all the photos you took during the combat rounds. I'm sure that some of them are awesome. 8) Please post at least a link in this thread so I know where to look!
