Tekumeli Divine Feats

Baron Opal

First Post
One of the things that I use for my homebrew are the gods from Tekumel, slightly modified. After reading through the cleric class, I have to say that I'm disappointed in the lack of inherent customization. However, trying to make some lemonade, I'm thinking of the following.

Each cleric joins one of two temples, the Temple of the Obelisk (Stability) or the Maelstrom (Change). As a standard feat selection they can choose one of the Channel Divinity feats appropriate to their temple. This does give them the opportunity to acquire more than one feat if they wish. Usually, they choose the feat of their chief patron first, then that of allies or cohorts.

Reskinning the feats gives us:

Hnalla - Harmony of Erathis
Avanthe - Melora's Tide
Thumis - ?
Karakan - Kord's Favor
Belkhanu - Pelor's Radiance

Hrü'ü - Sehanine's Reversal
Dlamelish - Corellon's Grace
Ksarul - Ioun's Poise
Vimhula - Raven Queen's Blessing
Sarku - ?

I'm waffling between Krod's Favor and Armor of Bahamut for Karakan, and I don't care for Ioun's Poise for Ksarul. It isn't clever or secretive enough for him and isn't really sagacious for Thumis. Not sure what to do for Sarku. I've been thinking of allowing the cleric to spend healing surges to remain conscious after they are dropped to less than 0 hp. One surge / round, or something like that. Something other than bolstering undead since we don't have necromantic magic yet.

Though most healing spells are general spells I have a bit of a problem of Vimhula having a basic healing power as his channel divinity ability. Sarku would definitely have a power related to undeath and maybe some of the monster abilities might be appropriate.

Yeah, it doesn't quite fit. There isn't a channel ability that is really offensive, however, that I can pattern off of. I would like a "If X, then Y (Fire)" ability for him. Kord's Favor, Armor of Bahamut and Raven Queen's Blessing would all fit quite well for Karakan. Unfortunately I would then need to have three for all of the others. :)

For Sarku I've been thinking of animating a corpse "until end of next turn". I'll have to look at the clerical summons for some inspiration.

Most spells in the original EPT were powers known and then you used them one to three times per day. So that could work. Tekumel has a very strong, rich background so be prepared to spend long periods of time not picking up any dice. I have several versions of my EPT 3e conversion lying about from my almost D&D version to allow for smooth transition to my last version using generic classes: http://www.tekumel.com/gaming_rulesDD3.html which had led to Victor Raymond asking me if I wanted to do a d20 conversion.

Channel Divinity: Promise of the Gift
Lord Sarku demonstrates a fleeting glimpse of his power.

Encounter - Divine
Standard Action, Ranged 5
Target: One corpse within one size catagory of the cleric.
Effect: One corpse within range gets up and shambles towards a target to initiate a grapple. It has the same move as it did in life. It falls back dead after the end of the cleric's next turn. All it can do is grapple the target.

A little vague at the moment, but I'm at work.
