Tell Me About Your Stars Without Numbers Experiences

In February, I will be running one of my multipart con-campaigns using Stars Without Number (it is a generational space opera with a little bit of Expanse vibes). I have read the game and I love it, but have not actually run it yet. I plan to run some sessions over the winter break to get a handle on its specific flavor of OSR-ish-ness.

But I thought I would ask here and see what advice folks have, broadly speaking, for running SWN.

Thanks.

NOTE: I will be running 4 hour sessions with 5 players.

Kevin Crawford calls SWN "OSR" but IMHO it's really an interesting hybrid of True 20 (a 3e SRD-based game by Green Ronin) and Traveller but with B/X math and sensibilities.

Despite Adam Koebel's black mark in the industry, I recommend watching his series on YouTube where he talks about running SWN. There is some great advice there. He does a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff with faction turns. Really any video that actually shows you faction turns will be a massive help because that's the magic of the "living universe" when it comes to running SWN as a GM.

I have the PDF; the book is on its way. Looking forward to giving it a noodle. I've always wanted to run a space RPG, but never could find the right thing for my tastes.
