Tell me how you've used Ronin Arts pdfs

That sounds pretty cool. Someday I'll have to finish the companion volume to Possessors. I've got all of the art and some notes but haven't done much with it.

That would be great. THe Possessors would were just to cool not to find a way to use. They were a good nemisis for about 5 years in game. I hope it has been a good seller as well.

mmmmmm, more possessors and maybe more demiplanes. I wonder if the possessor's have a planar outpost. This could make another fine demiplane.
I guess it goes without saying that I love the opportunity to get the extra demiplane material or possessors work.

I have been using Phil's stuff since he released the limited edition of the Book of Unusual Treasures. One item that has gotten considerable use is the Dwarven Fighting Mug.

I introduced them to the game slowly, first by having the party find a couple on some dwarven skeletons (the non-animated kind) they found. A Barbarian of the Half-Orc persuasion saw a large, heavy, beat-up drinking mug and claimed it as his own. Later in the adventure, after having used the mug quite a bit for drinking, they encountered some animated dwarven skeletons that were attacking with the mugs. The half-orc noticed a similarity with his new favorite mug, pulled it out, and started bashing skeleton skulls with it. Several game sessions later the party finally met some live dwarves (none in the party) and the barbarian learned that there is a whole fighting style devoted to the mug. He eventually picked up the feat to effectively use the mug, and it is now one of his favorite weapons. He's trying to get the groups Wizard to make him a magical frost fighting mug.

I also sprinkle a number of the mundane treasure items into the mix of treasure to add some variety to their treasure. The party likes the fact that they are getting more than coins and gems and "artwork" as treasure. Plus the history of some of the treasures make great adventure ideas.

I could go on, but that would take awhile. I am a subscriber to the DM Idea Pipeline, I own about a dozen other Ronin Arts PDFs, and I look forward to more. They add flavor and a great deal of color to the game.

I almost forgot about that! One of my players is utilizing on of the special priest (Sun), I think. It's provided a more depth and a 2nd specialty priest feel back to the cleric without resorting to prestige classes.

I think Michael Hammes is writing the pipeline this week. (Since, they switch a week at a time).

Hey, Phil will there be a way to get an extension on my pipeline subscription next June or so. That way I can continue to get the material?

I use the 101 Mudane Treasures liberally. In fact, last campaign every one of my players ended up with something from that book.

I've also been adapting the 101 Divine and 101 Arcane Spell components into my new setting. They need some work since I'm using Arcana Unearthed for my base magic system, but they're extremely cool and I intend to put them to work as soon as I have need to roll up a mage.

One of the unreleased demiplanes actually involves a creature related to the possessors.

I really need to write the "101 Unusual Treasures" PDF I've been considering.

If it never gets released in PDF you just need to send that too me. It would be very useful in my campagn as the players are starting to explore other planes and we have the history with the Possessors.

We played through A Matter of Family, the M&M adventrue and while the oppositionw as little light, the Roleplaying, investigation and problem-solving facets of it were top-notch.

Production values were good enough that nothing looked out of place next to M&M.

Wow, I have to agree with this. But, it was our first time playing M&M so the competition walloped them. Although to be fair, my players did not play as a team, did not try to balance their abilities, and often tried to out shine each other, so they were doomed from the start.

It was fun though.

Well,
I have aquired quite a few PDFs from Ronin Arts, including several "A Dozen...", but so far only "Forbidden Arcana: Magical Foods", "Forbidden Arcana: Magical Pipes and Tobaccos", and "Campaign Planner" has seen any real use.

Rather early in our current campaign, the characters were about to take on the Sunless Citadel when they meet a halfling cleric/wizard who wanted their help in getting an artefact out from the citadel, and he promised them great rewards. The characters, sensing gold, accepted his proposal. What they didn't know was that the halfling was a master chef, with knowledge of how to make magical food and tobacco.

When they returned with the artefact, they each received two "magic muffins of healing", and the group received a masterwork pipe together with ten fillings of "tobacco of serendipity". The looks on the players' faces were hilarious to watch. They were at first almost angered, and they firmly disbelieved the gifts as having any value. After a while they got a little more lighthearted, and started to joke about what the kind of drugs the muffins were stuffed with. Nobody dared come close to the pipe tobacco!

It took several gaming session before anyone dared try a muffin (they actually worked like a cure light potion), and even though they could perceive only benevolent effects of the muffin, they remained suspicious. They still joke about the "magic muffinses", and seem to think that it was a great gag. However, nobody has tried the pipe tobacco (it's laced with "Fox's Cunning") - they are too afraid! :)

As for the future products, I've begun collecting them. Apart from using the new races and the new spacecraft, I plan to mine them for names of planets, places, etc., which I will use to create a couple of star systems for a upcoming d20 Future campaign (based on the old "Star*Drive Setting" for Alternity).

Cheers,

Meadred
