Tell me what's so good about life

I didn't post earlier, but was watching the thread with concern. I am very relieved to hear that you're doing better. Hang in there man, better days are coming. If you ever need someone to talk with feel free to email me.

Best Wishes,
Brian

As an aside, I really don't appreciate my attempts to give Uz. accurate information about depression deleted. You may feel a warning is appropriate, Henry, but erasing the things I posted to give it to me is not.

If you have a problem with a moderator, you email them, please.

Uzumaki, I'm thrilled you're addressing the problem. Take care of yourself.

Be sure to discuss your medication with the prescribing physician. In addition to losing effectiveness, it may be interacting poorly with anything else you might be taking. For example, a member of my family was diagnosed with chronic fatigue. Turned out it was caused by a bad interaction between a blood-pressure med and an arthitis med.

Still here, guys. Still here. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've never felt as bad as I did a couple of days ago, but I don't feel that way right now. After I posted two days ago, I fell asleep until Mom came home. I told her how I was feeling and she stayed home yesterday and we made some cookies and a tower the cats can play on. She's the best mom in the world.

I've been on antidepressants for 15 months. I think I'll start looking at things I can do in addition to the medication, though. I've always been too good at depressing myself when I'm alone.

Being alone isn't good. Log onto the chat room and talk to people there (you might have to wait a few minutes, but someone usually comes by, and I'm in and out as work permits during the day). Go for a walk. Rent some Muppets. Who can be unhappy watching Muppets?

Just don't let yourself sit around and do nothing. Set goals, work on something for one of your characters. Create a setting. Write a story.

Glad to hear you're doing better...

I want to say (and this is nothing against the absolutely marvelous people of ENWorld) that even though you'll always find a listening ear, kind words and prayers here, forums or chat rooms are never going to reproduce the power or the effect (or whatever you want to call it) of actual human contact. Family and friends that you can touch and hug and their voices and laughter that you can hear.

I hope everything goes for the better,

Ben

Right now is the first time I've read the whole thread, because I didn't want to start crying again when mom was here. Thank you for your kind words. I'll remember them the next time I feel things getting really bad.

I'd try to avoid being alone, then... Youth groups, choir, sports teams (preferrably non-competitive), even helping out at the old folks' home...

Anyway, good to hear fromya! :D

Uzmaki, you've made my day! I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better. Thanks for letting us know you were better and please feel free to lean on us again if you ever get down.

I suffer from Clinical Depression, Anxiety, and OCD. You sound a lot like I did before I got help. Have your mom take you to a good psychiatrist/psychologist. I felt like ass for a dozen or so years before I sought help. Trust me. Seek some help. It changes everything for the better.
