Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

Waiting on an overdue Kickstarter? Let us know in our survey!
FAILURE!.png

Tell us your story. Which crowdfunders are overdue, and by how much? What was the original estimated delivery date?

Let's set a 1-year limit on this--to keep this down to a reasonable list, only crowdfunders which are a year or more overdue, please! That's a year or more past the estimated delivery date listed on the crowdfunding page.

Also, please note that this is for tabletop roleplaying game projects only.

Yes to all of this with a caveat - if a process is already on the way and near the end, or for a small project or software as a part of something else (i.e character builder or something of that sort), I will look at it a bit differently. But yeah, a whole software project shouldn't be funded by crowdfunding, IMO.
True, if they just need a final financial burst for the last stretch it might be much more secure. But other scenarios... Even if they plan to get other investors too after the initial KS boost, its too risky. It happens so easily in IT projects to have exploding costs that surpass the estimate by large margin if you don't have very tight project management. Unfortunately, often these KS projects don't have tight project management, because these often are passionate dev teams who want to work free and without limitations - which really doesn't work well with a fixed amount of kickstarter money.

Tbf, some of the biggest software fails some posted here like this phoenix game shouldn't have get backed even if it wasn't a video game, but a TTRPG - they were way too broad, unspecific, general ideas without a clear plan where to go. I rarely see kickstarter like these succeed. You need a clear concept, roadmap and ideally some MVP / prototype already under your hand. You can't wing that naughty word.

As of now, I have gotten my physical copy of Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms and @Steampunkette 's Martial Artistry. Now I am just waiting for the physical copies of Caliya's Chronicle of Runes and Book of Spirits: An Ethereal Guide to 5e. The latter has finally sent me a Text-Only PDF of what's in their book. :p

So far, I have enjoyed reading Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms. :) Favorite species, the Dragonborn-like Ryujin. Favorite subclass, the Shinobi Wizard. The latter IMO has a bit of a Naruto vibe to it. As for Martial Artistry, I like its' Rogue (Skirmisher) subclass.

I wrote earlier that I thought C'Mon Games most recent Cthulhu: Death May Die KS was a write-off, given the calamities that have befallen the company, but this morning we got a very positive update about production moving along, with photos!

So...maybe? I'll be amazed and gratified if they pull it off, and am pulling for them. Their miniatures design work is exceptional.

The supposed fundraiser for Jennell Jaquays's family, Return to Perinthos, ended about two years ago and there's been no information about fulfillment or delivering the funds to her family since June of last year so I'm assuming that was a scam.
Um yeah, about that. Jennell Jaquays's spouse passed away in November 2025. I wouldn't expect much more on that front.

Enjoy what you received, and even more importantly, cherish those around you as one never knows if this will be yours or their last day on this plane.

Well I received nothing and I would like to know if Heineman received the money raised back in 2024 or that her family received it if not. Since the project creators stopped communicating well before then, I'm still going to stick with my previous statement.

I'm not in on it, but I alwasy like to hear updates like this! Pulling that they get you your stuff!

There's some contact information on the Return to Perinthos Game jam page, here, that might yield some answers. Additionally Luke Gearing was involved in the final product, and he's always been pretty responsive, so you might try to get in touch with him.
