template extension?

Hey,

In my game, I've got a nemesis for the PCs who is a gestalt vampire/cleric. Like most of us, I could give you all a full detailed description of him, but let's just say that his name is Carcass and he was origionally an orc. Who the PCs captured, tortured, and then let go.

I've let the vampire part fill up one of the classes, with cleric being the other. He's incredibly powerful, and I've currently got him at eighth level -- because the template is + 8 ECL. So both halves are even. (and technically, he's like CR 10 or something.)

If I want to level him, his "template" half would need to be in something else, because he's done with the vampire template. And I don't want that -- I'd like for him to become more and more vampiric.

Any suggestions on what to add? Stat bonuses are an obvious and good choice, but what else? Start whipping out Disciplines ala V:TM? More level-draining? More blood draining? Celerity? Potence?

Any help'd be wonderful,
Eolin

If you have access to Libris Mortis, there's an Evolved Undead template (that you can apply multiple times) that's really cool- it basically takes an undead and increases its puissance and mightiness.

Also, how about vampire-specific prestige classes? For instance, there's the lifedrinker- I believe it first appeared in Dragon a couple of years ago, and it's also in Savage Species iirc.

Also, Libris Mortis has the 'Master Vampire' prestige class... but that's if he has some spawn that he's created.

I think I'll try to use both.

I wonder ... does the "master vampire" prestige class give spellcasting?

Probably not. If it did though, it'd be a great prestige class for the clericy part.

What does the Evolved Undead template give? And what does the lifedrinker do?

That's pretty.

fly, 3 levels draining, cha to saves and ridiculous such things.

As soon as my players are, ya know, 10th level, I'll be smacking this on top of my BBEG.

... the PCs are supposed to *win*, right?

If you want powerful, you can always count on Dicefreaks (link goes to their 'expanded' vampire template).

Edit: Or reserve this extra does of pain for when he gets away and undergoes terrible transformations in preparation for his revenge. Vampire Lord + the salient abilities of a DF advanced vampire == major hurting. :] :]
