Who do you think the patrons in the picture are?

The barman, the guy with eyepatch, the server, and the distant server in back are NPC's described in detail in the module, and the OAR version, and the 2003 video game version.

The patrons are not described - other than generally a mix of locals, boatmen or barge folk, transient bandits, river pirates, cultists, and mercenaries. But specifics I think would be fun. The guy with the barrel is simply described as a "manservant of surly mien".

Also, what is the nonhuman guy at the bar? I think something rarer than a half-orc?

Ha. The PCs in my 5e Primordial Evil campaign literally got rooms at this hostel at the end of our Thursday night session.

The PC’s in my email game just walked in, but they plan to sleep at “Elmo’s not-so-safe house” (Elmo bought a shack), so I don’t think the parties would cross paths … unless you want to?

Well, my version of Nulb is significantly different from the one in ToEE. It has the same basic shape, but it has been taken over by bugbears and goblins and members of an Earth Elemental Cult (in my game/setting the four elemental cults compete/ally depending on their immediate and long term goals, so the Earth cult drove out the Water cult, in order to ally with the fire cult, who esp. hates the water cult). The town has many burned/collapsed or abandoned buildings and many of the normal townsfolk have fled, but several others are around to make the best of it and/or act as the resistance.
