Seriously I figure Cthonic Entity. They count as aliens since they come from space, and have a habit of sleeping beneath the ocean. So it still works. But I don't think we'll ever actually see the monster(s) involved. Despite how much the trailers make me want to see it all I have to do is think of the terminal yawn-fest of Lost and its cheap drama tricks to make me cautious about anything he produces. A lot like M. Night S. all his movies have been let-downs even though the trailers made them seem interesting.
