Tenebrous

In my campaign, there's gonna be a high level hook about stopping demons from raging onto the MAterial Plane and laying waste to creation. I wanted to put Orcus' undead form, Tenebrous, into this as Orcus' avatar(IMC him and a few other Demon Princes and Arch-Devils are deities), but I can't remember what he looked like or what kind of undead he was, nor any powers beyond that he had the LAnguage Primeval(which I'm gonna simulate with ELH; told ya it was high-level, I'm planning way in advance). Anybody wanna help fill me in? Thanx.

Where was all the Tenebrous/Orcus stuff, anyway? I assume it was in Planescape somewhere- Dead Gods, maybe? Where was his resurrection played out, or was it? (I assume the Bloodstone silliness was his death)...

Must have been in an adventure...

I have Dead Gods from Planescape, and it is all about Tenebrous' rising to legetimate godhood. I'm not sure if there was a product relating his death, but in DG, they mention something about Kiaransalee backstabing him or something. The end of this adventure is fearly open and it is not specified if they would consider Orcus resurected, undead (Tenebrous) or annihalated(sp) in further products.

I don't have the book on hand, but I'm pretty sure they didn't stat Tenebrous or his powers. As I recall, it was a TPK if the players had not his wand when and if they they met him.

Thanx for the start off Brun, basically he's no longer a TPK to meet up with, he's another avatar of Orcus, besides his normal one(who is basically normal Orcus) IMC, Orcus did resurrect, but he integrated Tenebrous into his new self, he uses Tenebrous as a second avatar because Tenebrous has access to the Language Primeval. I'm looking for a description of what he looks like and what type of undead, if any, he seems to be most like.

You might also want to ask someone who owns "the great modron march", as Tenebrous slew Primus and replaced it for a time to gather information (hence the Great Modron March). Oh, and this affected him in some way, as he became more lawful (or less chaotic). I checked DG and the closest thing to a description there is is The Last Word. It is a secret of unknown origin, a single word, that is so powerful its mere concept drives mortals mad. It works somewhat like a power word: kill, but is strong ennough to slay deities (Bwimb, Primus, Maanzecorian, Tomeri and Camaxtli were victims). If there is any other God then Orcus in your campain, he was probably sriped of that power in some way.

As you nedd stats, you might go for something like a powered up advanced incorporeal balor lich or something. My guess...

Alright, thanx a lot for the help. Yeah, he had the power The Last Word(inspired giggles because we used to game with a jerk who had a power like that...he always got in the last word and bullied another DM into letting him get extra actions that way), it was a single word from the Language Primeval, the words spoken to create the universe.

Wow, so this story arced over a couple of PS modules? Dead Gods, tGMM, any others? (I'm not very familiar with Planescape stuff, especially modules and whatnot.)

Those are the only two I remember. If you want 'em, they're still available from a variety of places. (You could even ask thomasbjj if he's sold my copies yet. :) )

Eh, I'm not really buying right now, I'm going to be traveling around for a while. I'll keep them in mind for future reference, though... maybe someday I'll get some of the modules from Planescape.

Maybe someone could post or email me the details of the story arc a little bit? I have the Illithiad, and it mentions in passing that Maanzecorian is dead, but didn't give any details, so now I'm intrigued. (Not that I necessarily follow any of the details in the metaplot-heavy stuff, especially since I run a homebrew campaign world, but still.)
