Tentacle Sword

"So, as you can see, the true brilliance of the sword-chuck lies in neither the sword nor the chuck. Rather, it is their synthesis that makes them deadly."

The problem, of course, being balance. If a sword-chuck was like a 2-bladed shortsword that Monks could use at their unarmed BAB... hey, wait a minute... dang, Fighter may have had something here.

Swordchucks are kinda cool, actually. Take nunchaku, extend a sharp spike from the butt of both handles. I've seen this weapon used in a martial arts movie a while ago, and aside from avoiding certain movies they looked pretty cool. I think the shortsword analogy works. 1d6 damage, slashing. With a short blade you can do all normal nunchaku moves. I think you are on to something.;)

So what you meant to say was "I think the shortsword analogy doesn't work. 1d6, slashing."?

I simply wasn't being very precise when I mixed general thoughts and game mechanics. I think the analogy works. It's a small weapon doing 1d6 in damage and threatening a crit on 19-20/x2, like a short sword. That's it's slashing instead of piercing simply didn't seem that important. Better?;)
