Terminator films vs. Superman the Movie

Kai Lord

Hero
There's a theater in town having a bit of a "superhero festival" showing X2, Spider-Man, and the original Superman. I went and caught Superman since its still a great movie and I never saw it on the big screen. Some things I noticed watching it so soon after T2 and T3.

Both stories are about super beings who appear naked, one is the Man of Steel, the other is made of steel, and both involve attempts to change history to undo the effects of nuclear missiles.

Hmm.

Both tall, muscular guys with light skin and dark hair.
In addition to their great physical power, both have access to vast amounts of information that is unavailable to humankind.
Neither of them has the first clue about how to act around the ladies.
They both feel some kind of compulsion to wear glasses for no real reason.
You don't want either one of them looking too hard at your clothes.
Both occasionally have red, glowing eyes.
Both end up fighting their evil counterparts, complete with all the same powers (and more!), in their sequels.
Both are extremely lawful, and yet still manage to break those codes when they have to.
Both Christopher Reeve and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be best remembered for their roles in these movies.

"S" and "T" are chummy in the alphabet...and come in the order in which the characters are introduced...

What isn't anyone going to mention that they never appear in the same place at the same time?

But they do! Have you never read Superman vs. Terminator?

That's one of those delightful crossover graphic novels that I just have to have. It's on my list to pick up someday.

Did Metallo turn up? When John Byrne revamped Supes in the '80s, he changed Metallo's look to "within a hair's breath of a lawsuit" resemblance to the Terminator. It would be odd for a real Terminator to show up and not show Supes at least thinking, "Hey, look! Metallo!"

I know that Superman met Terminator, Aliens, and even Tarzan, but did he ever meet Predator? Talk about the "ultimate game". What Predator wouldn't want Supes' head on his wall?

He did, though I can't remember the name of it. There was also a Predator vs. Justice League crossover as well, where a group of Predators had the powers of the Justice League heroes.
